"One Day" as written by and Mark Prendergast Vincent May....
One day it's here and then it's gone
How are you still holding on?
How are you still holding on?

You've felt this way for far too long
Waiting for a change to come
You know you're not the only one

And life passes you by
Don't be wasting your time
On your own

You always try to see yourself
Through the eyes of someone else
Through the eyes of someone else

Too shy to say that you need help
You and everybody else
You and everybody else

Oh, life passes you by
Don't waste your time
On your own

As your heart gets bigger
And you try to figure out
What's it all about

And your skin gets thicker
As you try to figure out
What's it all about

One day it's here and then it's gone
How are you still holding on?
How are you still holding on?

My InterpretationI think the song is about falling in love and then loving the feeling and that person so much that when it ends you are lost in this unknown place and even though you aren't the only person to be feeling this in the world now or before you feel so alone. I think the song starts off with you asking yourself why you still act and pretend things with that person are going to get better or are still okay, and then the song explains how you are 'wasting your time' when there is someone out there who wants exactly you. Your heart might be broke, but it is fixable. Great song.

My InterpretationI relate to this song right now because all my group of friends are just after starting college and I'm not. I can't help but get the feeling that I'm being left behind while they move on with their lives.
I think this song is about the end of a relationship, not necessarily a romantic one, like my own. One day it's there "and then it's gone" and it's not clear why one would hold on to the memories of the relationship if the people involved just left "Why are you still holding on?"

My InterpretationI relate to the lyrics in the sense that I think the song is about confidence and fighting through a lack of it to make the most of your situation.

'You've felt this way for far too long, waiting for a change to come'

'Too shy to say that you need help'

'Life passes you by, don't waste your time on your own'

You do get fed up of being the quiet shy guy and constantly make an effort to be the confident person you expect yourself to be, but it's not as easy as it seems and more often than not you end up back at square one. That's what I got from the song anyway. It's been stuck in my head all day.

My Interpretationi think song is telling a story about when you are in a relationship, everything was fine you feel like you know your partner inside out, but out of the blue it all changed, he changed or you changed. however you just are in too deep in the relationship you don't want to get help and you're just wondering your place and the situation of the relationship
