"Big Bad World" as written by and Mark Prendergast Stephen Garrigan....
Maybe I'm wrong
Or maybe I'm right
Maybe it's just too late but this is keeping me awake all night.
Maybe say yes or maybe say no
Maybe I'm just too shy to admit that it is time to go.

We go out on our own
It's a big bad world outside
Carrying our dreams and all that they mean
Trying to make it all worthwhile.

Maybe believe
Or maybe don't care
Shit, maybe there is no god in the big white clouds up there
Maybe live long
Or maybe die young
Or maybe live every day like it's your last day under the sun.

We go out on our own
It's a big bad world outside
Carrying our dreams and all that they mean
Trying to make it all worthwhile

We go out on our own
It's a big bad world outside
Carrying our dreams and all that they mean
Try to make it all feel right

Oh, yeah oh, oh, oh

We go out on our own
It's a big bad world outside
Carrying our dreams and all that they mean
Trying to make it all worthwhile

We go out on our own
It's a big bad world outside
Carrying our dreams and all that they mean
Trying to make it all worthwhile

Oh, oh, oh

General CommentIn this song they contradict themselves frequently, it is used to represent life is uncertain, anything can happen. I think in all this is about a close friend or family member dying and how they are uncertain of why the world would do this to them. They are saying maybe there is no god because they think if there was they would have kept the person alive. They are trying to carry their friends dream and making their life worth while in memory of them because otherwise they feel like they have gone for nothing. They are referring to their friend when they say 'maybe die young' and themselves with 'live everyday like its your last day under the sun' They want to make the most of what they have left.
