"When You Break" as written by Bear's Den (Communion Publishing). Produced and Mixed by Ian Grimble, additional production by Kristofer Harris, synths by Marcus Hamblett, and Mastered by Christian Wright at Abbey Road Studios....
Spoiled, selfish little child
Went out to play out in the wild
I found you shaking like a leaf
Underneath your family tree

You could never live out in the open
Regretting every word you've spoken
When you break it's too late for you to fall apart
And the blame that you claim is all your own fault

And you've been crying out for forever
But forever's come and gone
You keep begging for forgiveness
But you don't think you've done wrong
You've been crying out for forever
Forever's come and gone
My bleeding hands, my shaking head

As your love starts to surround you
All of their words are trying to drown you
And you break, it's too late for you to fall apart
And the blame that you claim is all your own fault

But you've been crying out for forever
But forever's come and gone
You keep begging for forgiveness
But you don't think you've done wrong
You've been crying out for forever
Forever's come and gone
My bleeding hands, my shaking head

So tell me another beautiful lie
Tell me everything I want to hear
Won't you lay here by my side?
I want to fuck away all my fear

Tell me another beautiful lie
Tell me everything I want to hear
Won't you lay here by my side?
I want to fuck away all my fear

Tell me another beautiful lie
Tell me everything I want to hear
Won't you lay here by my side?
I want to fuck away all my fear

Tell me another beautiful lie
Tell me everything I want to hear
Won't you lay here by my side?
I want to fuck away all my fear

And I have seen all that you've seen
And I have been where you've been
No, our hands will never be clean
At least we can hold each other

My InterpretationI think this song is about an abused child who begins to blame himself for everything that goes wrong in his life. It eats at him as he cries out silently for so long, and by the time he breaks down from the weight of it, it seems like it's too late.

Then he meets someone who tells him beautiful lies, or maybe the truth, that he can't accept. He just fucks his way into forgetting things and pretending he isn't struggling, pretends that fucking and listening to what he believes are lies is a real relationship.

This EP is by far the most heartbreaking piece of music I have ever heard. It's a journey from innocence to ultimate breakdown. It's the story of how abuse destroys people from inside out and by the time it gets out it is too late. This song is a great bookend to explain the destruction it leaves as an adult and explains why some people can't feel love if they can't love themselves.

My InterpretationTo me it sounds like you loved someone that much
you believed everything the other person said.

The person kept hurting you but in the end you sorted everything out.
He always came back with regret and beautiful words.
But just one day you realize this person aint good for you.

"And you've been crying out for forever
    But forever's come and gone
    You keep begging for forgiveness
But you don't think you've done wrong"

He always tells you he is sorry for what he did and he won't do it again. But he will.
So this beautiful words don't have value anymore

"And you break, it's too late for you to fall apart
And the blame that you claim is all your own fault"

He always plays the victim that's how he tries to get back to you.
But he made a mess of it himself.

As you try to stay away from all the beautiful words
you miss them and you always go back to them.

    "Tell me another beautiful lie
Tell me everything I want to hear
Won't you lay here by my side?
I want to fuck away all my fear"
