"This Is the Best" as written by Thomas Salter, Ashley Buchholz and Jason Lee Parsons....
On your way out, turn the lights out
Take your supermodels and your broken beer bottles
I don't care, party anywhere
I'm broke man, possibly beyond repair

This is the best, this is the best,
My head is such a fucking mess
This is the best, crack house arrest,
My head's a mess

Well I woke up on a Monday
I've been feeling pretty wired
I've been wide awake since Wednesday
I was feeling so inspired
By the state of my own execution
Drop me 'cause I can't let go

On my way down, kill the lights now
Gimme Calcium and put me in the lost and found
I don't care, throw me anywhere
I'm cool man, possibly beyond repair

This is the best, this is the best,
My head is such a fucking mess
This is the best, crack house arrest,
My head's a mess

Well I woke up on a Monday
I've been feeling pretty wired
I've been wide awake since Wednesday
I was feeling so inspired
By the state of my own execution
Drop me 'cause I can't let go

On my way up, wish me good luck
Mission control I'm crushing like a monster truck
I should care, but I don't care
I fucking don't care, don't care

Well I woke up on a Monday
I've been feeling pretty wired
I've been wide awake since Wednesday
I was feeling so inspired
By the state of my own execution
Drop me 'cause I can't let go

This is the best, this is the best
Probably 'cause I can't let go
This is the best, this is the best
Stop me 'cause I can't say no

My OpinionIt really feels as if they're going in a different direction: more pop and way simpler lyrics. Nothing in this song made me look words up or think hours about the meaning. I understand they have to make a living but it's a shame..

General CommentI think it's a play on addiction and the addiction to a partier's lifestyle. How they constantly think they love living that way like it's "the best" but it's actually not living at all. It touches on things that are abnormal and a part of that lifestyle like they're awesome but if you think about it, crack house arrests and you're head being a mess (and so on) aren't at all "the best". Or I could be over analyzing shitty lyrics, who can be sure these days? One can find depth so long as they have that same depth within their mind.

My InterpretationSeems to me like it's telling the point of view of a drug addict.

"On my way up, wish me good luck
Mission control I'm crushing like a monster truck
    I should care, but I don't care
    I fucking don't care, don't care"

Getting higher than he should, probably a normal occurrence if he doesn't care anymore.

The chorus sounds like he's on a heavy stimulant. Maybe meth?

"On my way down, kill the lights now
Gimme Calcium and put me in the lost and found
I don't care, throw me anywhere
I'm cool man, possibly beyond repair"

The comedown from most heavy drugs would definitely make you not care where you are.

This is the best, this is the best
Probably 'cause I can't let go

He's stuck in the addiction. He's probably conflicted about it

This is the best, this is the best
Stop me 'cause I can't say no"

He can't say no. the addiction won't let him.

As someone who's gone through heavy alcohol addiction and in a relationship with an ex meth addict, I feel I can slightly connect with this song. Glad I'm out of that lifestyle.
