Someone died
Gunshot, right outside
Your father, he is dead
I see him in my head

Childhood's End
Goodbye, my holy friend
Love me, it's a sin
Can you see me caving in?

Weighing down, weighing down, weighing down
Weighing down, weighing down, weighing down
It weighing down, weighing down, weighing down
On me, me, me
Me, me, me
Me, me, me
Me, me, me
Yeah

Brothers feel
Killing time standing in the field
Our fate, it is sealed
At birth we made a deal
I don't cry
God, tell me why
Love, death
Night flight
Best friend crucified

Weighing down, weighing down, weighing down
Weighing down, weighing down, weighing down
It weighing down, weighing down, weighing down
On me, me, me
Me, me, me
Me, me, me
Me, me, me
Yeah

Won't someone come
Won't someone come
Won't someone come
Won't someone come
Won't someone for me, me, me
Me, me, me
Me, me, me
Me, me, me
Yeah

General Commentmakes me think if my grandparents and how they made my childhood unbelievable. I mean i literally don't even think it happened sometimes. they're all oozing this golden radiance of sunshine. and i think this song is about how theres nothing sadder than losing that, but also on a personal note theres understanding that 2 plus 2 equals four but until you're sitting in a room with your grandfather and your dad and realize how each of them want to be young again like you you don't realize why. its because you haven't left that era of your life completely and you want to just shut up and stop complaining and enjoy it. while it last, so i think this song might be explaining life in terms of a process of decay that should be celebrated and revered. maybe you do but i don't want to be sitting in a room with my grandchild and be just realizing all of this stuff when i can't do anything about it. Who knows maybe the freedom i think i have both then and now is just an illusion but its one i want to explore because ever since then to me its like heroin

My InterpretationWhat I get from the lyrics--
When the speaker was a child his father was shot while out. The speaker feels like his childhood ended that day. The speaker hasn't accepted it and moved on; instead of crying and going through mourning, he stays in denial and waits for his father to return home. His father was the closest person to him and he still feels alone without him.
