There was truth, there was consequence, against you
A weak defense, then there's me
I'm 17, and looking for a fight
All my life, I was never there just a ghost, running scared
Here our dreams aren't made, they're won.

Lost in the city of angels
Down in the comfort of strangers, I
Found myself in the fire burnt hills
In the land of a billion lights

Bought my fate, straight from hell
A second sight is paid off well
For a mother, a brother and me
The silver of the lake at night
The hills of Hollywood on fire
A boulevard of hope and dreams
And streets made of desire

Lost in the city of angels
Down in the comfort of strangers, I
Found myself in the fire burnt hills
In the land of a billion lights

I found myself in the fire burnt hills
In the land of a billion lights
(Angels)
(Angels)

I am home, home, home, home

Lost in the city of angels
Down in the comfort of strangers, I
Found myself in the fire burnt hills
In the land of a billion lights

One life, one love, live
One life, one love, live
One life, one love, live
One life, one love

The city of angels
The city of angels
The city of angels
The city of angels

( I messed up on the meaning of this song. So ignore the last meaning, this is what I think the real meaning. )

Honestly, this song is really beautiful. I feel like it teaches you to chase your dreams because in this song, that is what the lead singer is telling you he did. He went to Los Angeles to chase his dreams and become a famous singer. "Lost in the City of Angels." "I found myself in the fire burnt hills. In the land of a billion lights." I feel like this is how he come up with the song title "City of Angels". He told us a little bit about his past life and gave us a reason why he left it all to chase his dream. This is a really powerful and uplifting song that-like I stated earlier- teaches you to chase your dreams. So this song really has two meanings behind it:

    1. It teaches you to chase your dreams.
    2. This is a personal song for the singer on how he chased his dream and where it can take you, just by making one decision. "I am home,..." This sentence is saying that he finally reached his dream.

This is a really good song. I feel like this song is actually based on a true story of how the lead singer was trying to get famous really, hence the title of the song "City of Angels". This his journey towards fame and how it happened, what he left behind and the past. He tells us about his life all in five minutes. This song is really beautiful and I feel like this song also teaches you to chase your dreams no matter what.

btw it's "second sight HAS paid off well" - makes much more sense, and is from the horses mouth. just saying. ;)

    Memory

When I was 17, (Ironically) my family moved from my hometown to another town farther up north. I knew I was unhappy where I lived growing up, and had been that way for a long time. But I didn't realize how miserable I had been until we moved to that blessed new town where I met so many amazing people. I got a job nannying for these kids that changed my life forever, I came out of the closet, I met an amazing girl that would come to mean a lot to me, it was just beautiful. I had forgotten what it was like to be happy. Even though the move was during my senior year, and there were lots of personal trials to overcome, it changed my life forever and once we moved into the new house and began meeting people, there wasn't an ounce of me that wanted to go back. I was instantly happy.

This song takes me back to that feeling of relief after such a long hell. I got the time I needed to recover. I learned what it was to HOPE again.

The writer said he had dreams about being lost in an angelic city but there was a consequence against someone. But the first three lines in the second verse ... Bought my fate.......... Says that the writer had been saved .

So I think it is a mixed emotions song About being saved and brought to the city of angels where he calls his home

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
