I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. the woman (prostitute) is so used to the danger of working as a hooker that when any reality of normal 'clean living' life shades into her warped world is to much for her to bare so it pains her. hence why she creates 'smoke' or haze when she is whoring herself to cover up her true feelings.
The smoke filled room is the room she is whoring herself in at the time and so she doesn't feel anything while it's happening she just blocks everything out.
