When you were born, you were not alone
Nothing was carved into the stones
Well, yeah, but don't forget: you heard someone say
"it won't get better than this."
That was the sound of your father
As he held you up to your mother
No one will ever know a love as pure as
The one that you felt right then

They held you up, they held you up
And everybody else, they fell to the wayside
This is the start, a beginning
A prologue to the yarn that you're spinning
One million synonyms will never come
Close to describe the feeling

Don't ever leave. cause if you do, dear
I guarantee that you'll regret the day you did
And you'll miss all the simple things
And you'll see everything you ever loved
Start fading till there's nothing left but dust

And I believe that every broken bone is meant to be
When it heals it will be stronger than it was before
And I see the things that I pretend that I don't see
And I store them in my head, love, if only for memories

So now you're young and you feel alone his wife
Friends, family and all the good things now surrounding you
You can't helping thinking, oh
There's gotta be some more to do
When all the things that you cherished turn
Into burdens and there is no other path to take
You know what you gotta do but you don't know how

They hold you back; they hold you down
And you're gonna feel bad but you know
That you gotta get out. this is your pain
Your dilemma: do you stay in the town where
They raised ya? or will you sail away?
Pull the anchor and go in it for what come what may

You have to leave, cause if you don't, dear
You'll never see the things that you read about in books
You saw the films and you were hooked
But everything you want will come to you
You realize now that you gotta come see this through

And I believe that every broken bone is meant to be
When it heals it will be stronger than it was before
And I see the things that I pretend that I don't
See and I store them in my head, love, if only for memories

I believe that every broken bone is meant to be
When it heals it will be stronger than it was before
And I see the things that I pretend that
I don't see and I store them in my head
Love, if only for memories

I hear this song, and it makes me think Tom is talking about just living a life that's more than what many of us wind up with. It starts out with the person being born, then growing up and having many things that make life grand, but still wanting more, like to see the world and go elsewhere.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
