All my life I've been searching,
unraveling the pieces for the truth,
All my life I've been waiting,
and fighting for the day that I face you,
All my life

I'm soul searching high and low for this lady right,
It's only right, I don't mind, day and night, hold me tight,
Sophisticated, educated, very lady like,
Her body like a coke bottle, that's very lady like,
I'm captivated by her single status,
She's glowing to me, it makes me weak to my knees,
As my eyes lock, I am love struck,
As my heart stops,
I can't wait to find this moment to introduce myself,
They call it love at first sight, I hope I'm dead right,
And I don't plan to chase women but this may be right,
Besides, we only live once so live life,
I take this moment to make a brief decision in my mind,
And as I'm ducking and diving through this traffic,
I'm getting knackered, it takes some acrobatics,
Can't afford to let this slip, I insist,
Get a grip of what I've missed,
And I hope to see her again, it's my only wish.

All my life I've been searching,
unraveling the pieces for the truth,
(They call it love at first sight)
All my life I've been waiting,
and fighting for the day that I face you,
(They call it love at first sight)
All my life

To my surprise I managed to thankfully meet her again,
Adjusted my lens, she's practically a ten out of ten,
Leona Lewis in her, Cheryl Cole in her,
Naomi Campbell figure, a smile like Diana,
And this is crystal clear, I've got to approach her before she disappears,
Wait, the coast is clear,
Hey, We spoke and we joked and we giggled and we laughed,
A conversation like we'd spoken for years, it's kinda weird,
She's one in a million, she says she'll be sighted at Wimbledon,
Such a pleasant coincidence, dress is so simple it signifies her innocence,
That brings out the gentleman in me, which is kind of extraordinary, in this case fully necessary,
So, I would like to say, that she could be the one,
Or I could be making one huge, silly mistake,
In this case, I don't know why I'm feeling this way,
I guess it's the path the matters, just shouldn't leave it this way,

All my life I've been searching,
unraveling the pieces for the truth,
(They call it love at first sight)
All my life I've been waiting,
and fighting for the day that I face you,
(They call it love at first sight)
Cause in my life, I've been on fire,
I'm going to find the broken pieces of you,
All my life

I admire photos, we can take a picture,
Me, you, the bridesmaid, the family and the vicar,
We could make it rain, me and you together,
For richer, for poorer, through all stormy weathers,
I'll be your umbrella, your backbone, your bridge,
your angel, your armor, your parachute, your ladder,
January to December, so much to remember,
Maybe let's be nothing, I hear it lasts forever,
Every time we link up, there's a feeling in my gut,
That reminds me why I'm sprung, I'm addicted to this drug,
Every time we kiss and hug, it's magic, I feel your touch,
Pops an adrenaline rush, I feel I'm about to burst,
I don't mean to make a mess as it's more than just the sex,
I like to cuddle you, wrap my arms around you in the bed,
As you lay your head on my chest, and make some silence, I'm obsessed,
You're my queen, you're my lady, I'mma treat you with respect,
The first moment I laid my eyes on you, I couldn't keep my mind off you,
Your hustle, your mannerisms, your swagger and your attitude,
It's like I made my mind up to spend my entire life with you,
My ride or die, I'm the type of guy who surely will provide for you,
And share with you my everything, as I present it's relevant,
Escort you to places round the world that you've never been,
That somebody to hold on to, promise to not let go of you,
Whisper in your ear so goosebumps burst all over you,
You make me feel invincible, our spirits are identical,
We both think of each other, when things get kind of difficult,
We have so much in common, we have this magical chemistry,
They say you can't find someone with so many similarities,
In reality I see that I hardly find it embarrassing,
It's like I'm completely transformed into this brand new character,
And you get my best, get these feelings off my chest,
You especially make me feel I've got the 'S' across my chest,
YES

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
