"Can't Stop" as written by Ryan Tedder, Jeff Bhasker and Tyler Johnson....
I guess this is what it's supposed to feel like
No we don't talk, no we don't talk, we don't talk anymore
I guess this is what it's supposed to sound like
The universe, the universe, universe is torn

I don't want to live without you
I can live without you half the day, hey hey
I don't want to live without you
And put life off for another day

But I can't stop
Thinking about
Thinking about us anymore oh oh
I said I can't stop
Thinking about,
Thinking about us anymore oh oh
I said I can't stop, no
Thinking about,
Thinking about this anymore oh oh
And all I've got, uh
Is nothing I want anymore oh
Oh

No I never get used to silence
But I don't hear, no I don't hear
I don't hear you anymore
I know I had to look hard to find it
Everything, everything, everything is gone

I don't want to live without you
And put life off for another day

But I can't stop
Thinking about
Thinking about us anymore oh oh
I said I can't stop
Thinking about,
Thinking about us anymore oh oh
I said I can't stop, no
Thinking about,
Thinking about this anymore oh oh
And all I've got, uh
Is nothing I want anymore oh
Oh

I can see stars, I can see our lives
In a self destructing lane
I can see stars, I can see lights,
Shining here

But I can't stop
Thinking about
Thinking about us anymore oh oh
I said I can't stop
Thinking about,
Thinking about us anymore oh oh
I said I can't stop, no
Thinking about,
Thinking about this anymore oh oh
And all I've got, uh
Is nothing I want anymore oh
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh uh

My InterpretationTo me, this song is about that wasteland of time after a relationship has ended, where all you can do is think about them, but you still have to try to live without them. You know you can live without them, which is why you had the strength to break it off, but you still can't stop the flood of memories and emotions that overpower your will to forget and move on.

Currently, this song has a lot of meaning for me. I am in a relationship that feels increasingly unsupportive and distant. We started out as the best friends you can imagine, and when we realized that we both wanted something more, we were so passionate. Our chemistry and emotional connection were electric, and we both loved one another more than anything else in the world. Some things have happened since then. I have hurt him very much, and the path to forgiveness will be long and unsteady, both for him and myself. I feel that the relationship is disintegrating and that a parting of ways is inevitable. We've grown increasingly distant, and even when we talk, it doesn't feel the same. "I guess this is what it's supposed to sound like/ The universe, the universe, the universe is torn." I feel this everyday, and "I never get used to the silence." Simply put, I can't stop thinking about us, and "all I've got is nothing I want anymore."

General CommentI think this song speaks of an impossible relationship, but also one that is necessarily very passionate and spiritual.

I can relate to this song as I'm in an on-off with a man who I have very strong emotions for - although quite a bit of it is clouded by lust. We can't ever be together because of circumstance, but sometimes I just can't stop thinking and hoping for the impossible. The line 'all I have is nothing I want anymore' is especially powerful because I would have to give up a lot to be with him but yet sometimes I feel like I would.

I'm so happy one republic came up with this song as I can totally escape in it and wallow in my misery of me without him.
