And I said, baby
And I said, baby
And I said, baby
And I said, baby

And I said, baby, I'm all alone
I need you now
Come stay with me so that we can be somehow
Said baby, your hold-me-down is my design
Come stay with me so that we can be much higher
I don't wanna be there tonight
You make me low, you make me crawl
And make me harder
And you, wanna be the one that makes me up
You make me love
Don't make me help and make me odder
And you don't wanna be like I'm the face that
You never wanted
Be out, fine, take that
You wait for love, telling me to go, go, go
Don't ever leave me
You're feeling like you don't mind
Thinking that you want to go
Don't ever leave me
You're feeling like you don't mind
Thinking that you want to go
Don't ever leave me alone
And this is how you find
I'll make it and you know, know, know
Don't ever leave me
Never leave me out
Never leave me
Don't try to make me

I just called you up to get that play by play, that play by play
Don't ever leave me alone
I just called you up to get that play by play

Its a relationship where neither party completely understand it nor are entirely committed even though they miss each other when they're not together. However when they interact things become tumultuous and some of what they feel and say are incongruent. Ashin refers to each bar as a play as he mentally goes through the conversation that will take place when he calls her. The beginning verses that outlines their gedanken interactions are the plays. The closing verses are Ashin making contact with her and going through each play, play by play. Non?

    My Interpretation

There's little to say about this song other than that it's pure sonic sex — baby-making music. Otherwise, the urge to sing along with eyes tightly shut is irresistible and to that end, it has to be done down on your knees and with every ounce of your being.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
