Scared to the point of paralysis, we shit ourselves faster than the entire digestive process.
Our insides are on the outside, looking back and somehow telling us to not look down and don’t look away.
And for fuck’s sake don’t look back and say to yourself it was good while it lasted because it wasn’t and it’s never going to be the same way again.
Doctor’s order? Friendly advice? Throw them away. Give up, give in, and let your body adjust and run its course.
I’ve been waiting for something to click but somehow help up by subconsciousness and past events.
You’ve said and time again, “time heals, time mends” but I’m still here, irate and obsolete.
Ive been sitting here talking the ears off of walls, never breaking eye contact for far too long with the ceiling that never seems to sleep.
It never ceases to amaze me that I can’t help but think it’s as obvious as the neighbors’ stacked self-help books which lay quiet at the yard sale.
Were all surrounded by slit throats for smiles. Slit ear to ear, we drown in blood-red ink for signatures.
We still sing ourselves to sleep every night with the same stagnant and idle outcomes, but suffice to say we still wake up with someone we don’t recognize.
Expect to expect nothing in return, self-inflicted cries for the helpless.
