Believer, your spotlights on the subject, so incorrect
And suggestion suggests that I'm someone you should not respect
Oh, you wear your facade so well
Covered up in a plastic shell
You're a liar to everyone around you
Just don't forget

Face the honest truth
You were never you, ooh

Now be defiant, the lion
Give them the fight that will open their eyes
Hangman hooded, softly swinging
Don't close the coffin yet, I'm alive

And it's homecoming
And it's homecoming

Can you remember when there was no wrong in what I could do?
So young, biting off way more than I could chew
And then one day I grew too old
And my cares were now theirs to mold
Please accept this as my resignation
It's time to go

Face the honest truth
You were never you, ooh

Now be defiant, the lion
Give them the fight that will open their eyes
Hangman hooded, softly swinging
Don't close the coffin yet, I'm alive
Oh, I'm alive

I will now bleed for what I believe in
No more mistakes for them to make for me
So goodbye, it's my time to be
To be me, to be

Face the honest truth
You were never you, ooh

Now be defiant, the lion
Give them the fight that will open their eyes
Hangman hooded, softly swinging
Don't close the coffin yet, I'm alive
I'm alive
I'm alive
I'm alive

    Song Meaning

Sentry joins Evagria in attempting to protect Sirius from the first three entities, but Sirius is still forced to relive his life as he had with the other spirits in the Keywork.

In life, Sentry was in the army under Vic's command. When he became aware of the horrible war crimes Vic committed, he confided in one other sergeant and swore to bring Vic to justice for his crimes. Before he could tell anyone else, however, Vic murdered Sentry, staging the scene as a suicide. Terrified into silence, the remaining sergeant did not shine light on the true nature of Sentry's death until years later when evidence of Vic's crimes finally surfaced and the guilt of his silence became too much to bear. Vic was eventually charged for his crimes, and in death, Sentry became a hero of the war, celebrated for his sacrifice in his pursuit of justice.

But Vic did not truly get his justice; he took his own life before he could stand trial, and so the two entities continue fighting in death, Vic seeking to punish Sentry's betrayal, and Sentry attempting to finally bring Vic down for good. Sirius, unfortunately finds himself in the middle of this struggle, and in this he realizes what he must do. Remembering Evagria's contentment at her situation, he sees that these warring entities remain in limbo because they continue holding on to the horrible events that occurred in their lives, and so he attempts to convince Sentry to simply let his conflict with Vic go.

He is successful. Sentry moves on to a state of complete enlightenment, and along with Evagria, he takes Sirius to the higher plane, just for a moment, before transporting him back to his ship and out of harm's way, where he is finally free to return home.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Head > Heels
Ed Sheeran
“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
