"Recoil" as written by Peter Hook, Bernard Sumner, Scott Engel, Stephen Morris and Phillip Cunningham....
(Verse)
You’ve got a strange look in your eyes
Nothing to get and no need to lie.
And when the dust come howl at your door
You’re not afraid, it’s just the role.

It’s not the way that I want to be
But I can’t explain just how I feel.
Out of my heart and into my soul
You were the start and you are the go.

But it isn’t funny the way that you talk about me
You know I can’t change the way that you want me to be.
But I tried to do what I can, gone is the life we built in a sec.

General CommentOk. Now then, i may be very wrong here as Bernards lyrics occasionally don't make sense and i haven't studied and obsessed over this song, like i have on a number of New Order songs...

    But....

I would suggest that it's "....DOGS come howl at your door". Dust doesn't tend to howl.

And...."you were the start and you were the WHOLE" ?

Might be way off there but "whole" makes sense AND rhymes with "soul".

And "....gone is the life, we built in the SAND"

Could be wrong but surely even Bernard wouldn't rhyme "can" with "sec"....would he?

Regardless of anything i have suggested above. I adore this song. It does sound a bit super-market music in parts but that bass pulls it back into the sublime.
