I am a modern man
I lead an ordered life
This sickness doesn't fit within my restrictions
I am an empty shell
Of what I could have been
I've become this at someone else's insistence
And how should I reply
If that's where my faith lies
I am ashamed to even claim its existence
There is no answer to
The question that haunts you
I wish for nothing and just take what is given
That's living
It's the way that it's been ever since the beginning

If I ever fell in love, was it love?
Or was it something else that felt a little more vacant?
If I ever fell in love, was it love?
Or was it something else that felt a little more vacant?
I am a modern man
And I need a modern girl who will understand
I am a modern man
And I need a modern girl who will understand

One day the man of the house won't be holding the roof up
One day your hands will be stained by the pain of your true love
One day your daughters and sons will just be the remains of
One day you'll wish you were dreaming and that you could wake up
Give up the hope

Baby, I remember when you and I were only friends
And we didn't know a better way to say I love you then
Maybe that's the way it is for now
Don't feel let down about it because you know
It will be good for us again
Give up the hope
That life is a series of feelings exploding
You're missing the point because you're hoping
For something more
But what we have is what everyone's dying for
So no more songs
No more favorites
No more future
No more blame
This is the end of your life
This is the end of your life
It's all that you've done
All that you get
This is the end
Don't you spend regretting the time you've already misspent
The angels, like vultures, descend crying ah, ah, ha, ah
Give up the hope

It feels like I'm slipping, I'm slipping, I'm slipping
I'm slipping away
Your voice keeps on drifting out further and further
And further away
It feels like I'm slipping, I'm slipping, I'm slipping
I'm slipping away
Your voice keeps on drifting out further and further
Don't leave me this way

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
