I will always let you down,
Whether I mean to or not
I will only waste your time
Whether I mean to or not (this one forgot)
Mean to or not (this one forgot you)

When I fell into your eyes
You're already gone
When you leave me by the house
When you leave me on the first call
A lover has gone

I'd regret then break your smile
Whether I please you or not
Won't forgive myself inside
Whether I seem to or not (this one forgot)
Seem to or not (this one forgot you)

When I fell into you're eyes
You're already gone
When you leave me by the house
When you leave me on the first call
A lover has gone

General CommentA song of excuses. Is everyone listening to the top 100 tonight, or what. People don't try and don't DO because they have no need to when they are being loved and liked and cared for. They have nothing to lose when they have all that they need from a person from afar, so why gamble. People have no motivation to change their actions, so they keep using music to speak for them instead of the mouths and minds that God gave them. This song is the epitome of bullsh*t, lyrically speaking. Some people are as well.

My InterpretationI think this about a guy who has problems with intimacy and continually disappoints and hurts the women he gets involved with because he "regrets" and then abandons them. The verses are sung by the male singer and the chorus (mostly) by the woman. For him, he's saying to her he knows he'll only let her down because he can't get attached, but despite that he seems to regret his behaviour "won't forgive myself inside", he also seems to be feigning responsibility for his actions by being depressed and fatalistic about this inherent flaw that he feels is inevitably a part of him. For her, she knows as soon as she falls for him or as soon as he falls for her, 'fell into his eyes', he is already long gone.
