Oh my God, well, it's happened again
I've already seen how this story ends
Most other folks would just let it all pass
But in twenty-six minutes I'll be on my sixth glass

I sit here getting wasted
The grim reaper's out there waiting
But a little red devil's already possessed my mind
I've got no hope for freedom
Made best friends with all my demons
And they prefer I spend my time inside (yeah, yeah, yeah)

Surprise, surprise!
Woke up late again
But I've got no job and I've got no friends
The rich ain't happy and the sad get sadder
So if I sit here getting drunk
Does it really even matter?

I sit here getting wasted
The grim reaper's out there waiting
But a little red devil's already possessed my mind
I've got no hope for freedom
Made best friends with all my demons
You know what, man? I'll take a chance outside!

(Let's talk it on out)

We're looking good, we're feeling fine
I think I'll take you out tonight
Ghost Town, boomtown
Going to the show
I've got my coat, I've got my hat
I'll wait outside your London flat
Likkle old time reggae on my red radio

Hey, little rude girl
Where you going?
Hey, little rude girl
Don't you know the music brings this town to life?
Hey, pretty rude girl
Are you listening?
Hey, pretty rude girl
Don't you know that you brought me back to life?

So shake your rump to this mighty beat
I think I killed my losing streak
Good luck is on my side and that's alright
I said, Hey, Miss Katella
I just wanna be your fella
We can take the 50 bus to the party downtown
You know her love is lethal
But deep down she is an angel
I can't get enough of that Orange County sound
Can't get enough of that Orange County sound

Hey, little rude girl
Where you going?
Hey, little rude girl
Don't you know the music brings this town to life?
Hey, pretty rude girl
Are you listening?
Hey, pretty rude girl
Don't you know that you brought me back to life?

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
