I'll wait here
For you
For I'm broken down
Coming down this time
For my heart lies

Far and away where they took you down
Let them over to your house
Where I'm broken
Down by the people if they let you breathe
Don't give a damn if you still can't see
Still my heart beats for you

Have become all I lost
And all I hoped for
But I must carry on
Always one
Never broken

Run to the lobby where I saw you try
Don't give a damn for your reasons why
Where soul feels
Down in the valley where the church bells cry
I'll lead them over to your eyes
Whoa, I am one
I am one

Break, story of
Peace and love in a future
Bright sacrifice
Came around
Never broken

Down by the people if they let you breathe
Don't give a damn if you still can't see
Traveling a street that I did not go
Wheels locked on to the winter low
Down in the valley where the church bells cry
I'll lead them over to your eyes
Whoa, I am one
Whoa, I am one
I'm one

I think that this song is about someone trying to commit suicide 'run in the lobby where I saw you try, don't give a damn about your reasons why' and he doesn't want the person to commit suicide and he doesncare about the reason 'don't give a dam about your reasons why'. He's asking why the person trying to commit suicide is broken but never gets an answer, it was his best friend who commited suicide and he is now shattered but does not want to show this and wants others to stay srtong although he himself is not. And he has to carry on without the person who has commited suicide ' but I Must carry on, always one, never broken' . To sum it up its about his friend commiting suicide but him having to stay strong and carry on for the sake of others

Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
