"Summer Love" as written by Lindy Robbins, Louis William Tomlinson, Niall James Horan, Zain Javadd Malik, Liam James Payne, Steve Robson and Wayne Anthony Hector....
Yeah, oh ooh ooh, ooh ooh, ooh

Can't believe you're packing your bags
Trying so hard not to cry
Had the best time and now it's the worst time
But we have to say goodbye

Don't promise that you're gonna write
Don't promise that you'll call
Just promise that you won't forget we had it all

'Cause you were mine for the summer
Now we know it's nearly over
Feels like snow in September
But I always will remember
You were my summer love
You always will be my summer love

Wish that we could be alone now
If we could find some place to hide
Make the last time just like the first time
Push a button and rewind

Don't say the word that's on your lips
Don't look at me that way
Just promise you'll remember
When the sky is grey

'Cause you were mine for the summer
Now we know it's nearly over
Feels like snow in September
But I always will remember
You were my summer love
You always will be my summer love

So please don't make this any harder
We can't take this any farther
And I know there's nothing that I wanna change, change

'Cause you were mine for the summer
Now we know it's nearly over
Feels like snow in September
But I always will remember
You were my summer love
You always will be my summer love
You always will be my summer love
You always will be my summer love

Song MeaningThis song is about a couple who met on a summer holiday but they had to brake up because the holiday was over and they wouldn't be able to see each other again. "Can't believe your packing your bags, trying so hard not to cry. Had the best time but now it's the worst time cause we have to say goodbye." But they promise that they will always remember each other. "You were mine for the summer, now we know it's nearly over. Feels like snow in September but I always will remember that you were my summer love, always will be my summer love."

General CommentIt's about a brief relationship, although anything could have broken the couple up, school, touring, moving, etc. They both know that they must let go of each other, but are both having a little trouble with it.

My InterpretationI think that this song is about a girl and a guy living together. The guy tells her it's over but its for the best and the girl packs her bags and leaves. The guy doesn't want a long term relationship and doesn't want to have to hold on to the good memories, he just wants to let go.
