We spent our lives together
It should have last forever
But now it's time to sail on

So take this anchor from my heart
So we can finally drift apart
Before we drown in sorrow

I gave you sanctuary
Under the sun we lived care free
I tried so hard to love you

But then you turned your back on me
Your good intentions turned to greed
And now it's great to know that you have bee

Swallowed up by the ocean
Swallowed up by the ocean
Swallowed up by the ocean
Swallowed up by the ocean
Swallowed oh

The bluest skies turned into grey
Through tortured eyes I watched you change
A paradise went up in flames
And though I cried a thousand times
You didn't hear the lies in time
There's nowhere left to hide since you have been

Swallowed up by the ocean
Swallowed up by the ocean
Swallowed up by the ocean
Swallowed up by the ocean
Swallowed oh

Your devastation took it's toll
As the waves came crashing to the coast
This sinking ship, I'm taking back from your control

It felt so good to cross my arms and renounce my faith in mankind
How could you ever be so blind to think that you survive

Swallowed up by the ocean
Swallowed up by the ocean
I hope you know that nothing matters
Now that you have been
Swallowed up by the ocean
Swallowed up by the ocean
I hope you know this ship has finally come to rest
I hope you know this ship has finally come to rest
Oh, I hope you know someday this ship will be your end

    My Interpretation

"We spent our lives together It should have last forever But now it's time to sail on"

So this is basically saying they were a couple, possible a married couple that were supposed to be together forever however their love may have drifted for some reason.

"So take this anchor from my heart So we can finally drift apart Before we drown in sorrow"

I believe this is saying he tries to get rid of the emotions he has for this man/woman but it's just so hard like lifting an anchor before causing more pain to him/her.

"I gave you sanctuary Under the sun we lived care free I tried so hard to love you"

This part is saying how hard he/she tried to keep the relationship together by giving him/her as much as they could weather it be tangible things or just love. However there is possibly something that's holding him/her back from loving the person.

"But then you turned your back on me Your good intentions turned to greed"

I believe this is talking about how originally he/she was giving him things possibly for intimacy and or just to get things of greater value back maybe? Or this could possibly mean he/she was just generally using him/her for sex.

    "Swallowed up by the ocean"

This I believe means how he/she was originally different to everyone else but has now just faded away into the crowd of people OR that he/she passed away and he/she is glad because of this.

"Through tortured eyes I watched you change A paradise went up in flames"

This continue's to talk about how the person has changed and how what they had has crumbled before them.

I haven't worked out the rest yet but if this get's many likes I'll make sure to do more. Remember this is just my personal opinion rather than what the song actually is about

Holiday

@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
