Young blood
Stick it out
Face your palms to the sun
Run through the muck
Fill your bucket from the river
Oh love
Pick it up
I got your back, your front and sides
These are the hands and the mind of a giver

Ooh ooh ooh ooh
Young blood
Ooh ooh ooh ooh
Young Blood

She opened her arms
Her arms to the world
The world
Threw her down to remind her
To open her ears
Her ears
To the sound
The sound of the song would define her
She opened her eyes
Her eyes
To the gaze
Of the face of the stranger who held her
No longer held captive
A captive
To the race
He erased all the chains that compelled her

Ahh, ahh, aaa, aaa

Young blood
Stick it out
Face your palms to the sun
Run through the muck
Fill your bucket from the river
Oh love
Pick it up
I got your back, your front and sides
These are the hands and the mind of a giver

Ooh ooh ooh ooh
Young blood
Ooh ooh ooh ooh
Young blood

She opened her arms
Her arms to the world
The world
Threw her down to remind her
To open her ears
Her ears
To the sound
The sound of the song would define her
She opened her eyes
Her eyes
To the gaze
Of the face of the stranger who held her
No longer held captive
A captive
To the race
He erased all the chains that compelled her

Young blood
Stick it out
Face your palms to the sun
Run through the muck
Fill your bucket from the river
Oh love
Pick it up
I got your back, your front and sides
These are the hands and the mind of a giver

Ooh ooh ooh ooh
Young blood
Ooh ooh ooh ooh
Young blood

    My Interpretation(sorry, typos)

I think this song is about a girl who is bullied, or more vaguely about society and how peers can make life difficult for you if they don't like you. Here's how I read the chorus:

"She opened her arms, her arms to the world"
*******She's a nice, sincere person with an open heart
"The world bent down to remind her, to open her ears
    Her ears to the sound
The sound of the song that would define her"
*******The WORLD puts her down ("bent down" as in she is LOWER than the rest of them) and puts labels on her and says mean things to/about her. People sort of determine who you are by how they perceive you to be and once they'd made their decision you are almost cast in how you're gonna live and be treated. and I guess they defined her as something bad.
    "She opened her eyes
    Her eyes to the gaze
Of the face of the stranger who helped her
No longer held captive, a captive to the race
He erased the chains that compelled her"
*******But there was one person who was nice to her and became her friend, so she was no longer completely alone.

I like the way the lyrics flow and how they're simple yet tell an intricate story.

My InterpretationI think this song is about a girl who is bullied, or more vaguely about society and how peers can make life difficult for you if they don't like you. This song is heavy on the chorus, so I'll explain by analyzing it:

"She opened her arms, her arms to the world"
*******She's a nice, sincere person with an open heart
"The world bent down to remind her, to open her ears
    Her ears to the sound
The sound of the song that would define her"
*******The word puts her down ("bent down" as in she is smaller than the rest of them) and puts labels on her and says mean things to/about her. People determine who you are by how you act and look, and once they'd made their decision you are almost cast in how you're gonna live and be treated.
