"Always On My Own" as written by and Chan M Marshall....
I was always on my own

Look in my eyes and see the bomb
Fun and nonsense, on and on
Tell me no lie, under your thumb
Back to back, tick tock has begun

Look in my eyes and see the bomb
Fun and nonsense, on and on
Tell me no lie, under your thumb
Back to back, tick tock has begun

I am what you want
I am what you're not
I am what you want
I am what you're not

I want to live (I want to live)
My way of living
I want to live (I want to live)
My way of living

General CommentI always get the feeling that Chan is quite introspective and much of her work is directed at herself.
To me this represents a pretty positive outlook and is somewhat of a counter to her song "not what you want" from 'Myra Lee', most notably the line "I am what you want"
Coming from this new Chan "Always on my own" sounds more like an independence rather than a loneliness, whereas 10-15 years ago it would probably be the other way around.
    Sparse, ethereal, beautiful.
Officially my most listened to song ever.
