"Too Much Blood" as written by and Brian Fallon....
Are you scared this sounds familiar?
What if everybody knew the very trials and temptations
That we put ourselves through?
Now I am no angel but I got nothing to hide
Can you say the same thing for yourself tonight?

What can I keep for myself if I tell you my hell?
What would be left to take to my grave?
And what’s left for you, my lover to save?
What’s left for only you to take?
If I put too much blood on the page
If I put too much blood on the page
And if I just tell the truth are there only lies left for you
If I put too much love on the page?

Now as my eternal witness to the pride and the shame
Are you worried I say too much?
Are you scared they’ll take me away?
Now I am no devil but I’ve got things on my mind
And they're gonna come out and they’re gonna come up time to time

What can I keep for myself if I tell you my hell?
What would be left to take to my grave?
And what’s left for you, my lover to save?
What’s left for only you to take?
If I put too much blood on the page
If I put too much blood on the page
And if I just tell the truth are there only lies left for you
If I put too much blood on the page?

What can I keep for myself if I tell you my hell?
What would be left to take to my grave?
And what’s left for you, my lover to save?
What’s left for only you to take?
If I put too much blood on the page
If I put too much blood on the page
And if I just tell the truth are there only lies left for you
If I put too much blood on the page?

If I put too much blood on the page
If I put too much blood on the page again

My InterpretationI think that this song is definitely to his wife, about why he doesn't really want to write a song about her. Because, if I tell all these people too much about how I feel about you, what do I have left to give to you? And what's left only between us? I think it's really beautiful.

General Commenthands down my favorite song on the album. really hits a personal cord - about not wanting to reveal too much of yourself, of your story. about the fear of the emptiness that can come from divulging all of your demons and joys to others. love love love love love it.

My InterpretationNow that TGA is on indefinite hiatus, and this was their second-to-last album, I think this has everything to do with him not wanting to write such personal songs anymore, because he feels like he's telling everything about himself and won't have anything left to tell to the people who are closest to him.

Song ComparisonThis song is basically Brian's "How to Avoid a Say Anything/Molly Connelly Situation", when you think about it ;0
