You say ‘so, convince me to stay’
I luckily am trained and say ‘stay’
You say ‘baby, don’t toe the line
Don’t you think that love should
Be blind and unwise?’

You've been going, going gone
If only in my mind
And it’s taken so long but I feel light
You say ‘baby, don’t take your time
anymore
Don’t you think that love should be
pure and kind?’

Just do what you want to do
Go where we’re going to
Just do what you want to do
And hope that love will follow you

My InterpretationFrom experience this song is about a separation. To me this song is about love that doesn't work out. Where something is not allowing them to properly be together. " You say 'so convince me to stay" is about one person of the relationship trying to get away. I think "don't toe the line" is symbolic for a boundary between them or it simply means don't try to do something that cant be done. "Don't you think love should blind and unwise" is what the person leaving thinks she/he should understand is that if we do love each other but it isn't working out than maybe love should be blind and unwise. Blind as in we don't know what were doing and unwise as making mistakes. This person is still trying to leave and so she says "you've been going, going gone" proves that. Now were it says "you say baby, don't take your time anymore, Don't you think that love should be pure and kind" means that decide now, we cant be together like this or it means we should be together like this. Let me leave or let us be real love. The ending lines are really sad but it is the singers farewell admitting that she hopes love follows him after he leaves. She lets him leave if that's what he wants. Very Pretty/Sad Song. She wants him in her life but the real reason is unknown.
