I'ma be that nail in your coffin
Sayin' that I soften
I was duckin' down to reload
So you can save your petty explanations
I don't have the patience

Before you even say it I know
You let your pride and your ego
Talk slick to me no
That is not the way I get down
And look at how you lose your composure
Now let me show ya exactly how the breaking point sound

I wanna see you choke on your lies
Swallow up your greed
Suffer all alone in your misery
Choke on your lies
Swallow up your greed
Suffer all alone in your misery

What is it you want me to tell ya?
I'm not the failure
I would rather live and let be
But you can't make the right kinda threat to
Push me to let you
No, you can't intimidate me
You disrespect me so clearly
Now you better hear me
That is not the way it goes down
You did it to yourself and it's over
Now let me show ya exactly how the breaking point sounds

I wanna see you choke on your lies
Swallow up your greed
Suffer all alone in your misery
Choke on your lies
Swallow up your greed
Suffer all alone in your misery

I wanna see you choke on your lies
Swallow up your greed
Suffer all alone in your misery
Choke on your lies
Swallow up your greed
Suffer all alone in your misery

You did it to yourself
You did it to yourself
You did it to yourself
You did it to yourself

You did it to yourself
You did it to yourself
You did it to yourself
You did it to yourself

I wanna see you choke on your lies
Swallow up your greed
Suffer all alone in your misery
Choke on your lies
Swallow up your greed
Suffer all alone in your misery

    My Opinion

i think for the "meaning" there's 3 meanings (or point out on to...): -Talking to the government (since the lyrics says: wanna see you choke on your lies Swallow up your greed Suffer all alone in your misery and I think it's about the corruption and stuff ) -The "angry" fans that kept saying "the new album sucks, bring back to the basic", and they sick of it -War... (since this song is on Medal Of Honor: Warfighter trailer)

Awesome song! I can't wait for the new album! And this song kind of reminds me A Place For My Head!

It seems, to be at lease two dimensional. It can be about people, who think linkin park "soften" or about relationship(s).

Most definitely says 'greed' and not 'pride'

This song could go toward many different situations, and I feel it goes toward past "friends" that I've let go for their shady BS they pulled. Powerful lyrics.

I think Linkin Park's lyrics to this song they talking about a girl they once knew. Mmmm i didn't know lp have any heart or felt that way towards someone before. they sound very pissed well they did on most their songs on Living Things album. someday time will tell when that person (that girl, i think or guy?) will tell her side of the story.... tricks up the sleeves.... because she's in pain and got hurt badly as lp did too. I mean just saying... lies greed misery is a very painful emotional LP lyrics. lesson learn from lp never mess with rappers and musicians with other singers and musicians..... just do not do it!

    My Interpretation

To me, this song reminds me of this guy that liked me but was dating my best friend. He wrote me a note saying he didn't like my best friend anymore, still liked me, and was jealous of me and my boyfriend. I told my best friend and my boyfriend. She dumped him for being such a jerk and my boyfriend was pissed at him. The chorus of this song is basically what i want to yell in his face. (:

"your pride and your ego" are not getting it done. "I don't have the patience" for all you 'complicated' people.

Does it say "Swallow up your greed"? Every other lyric site says "Pride" but listening to the song it kind of sounds like both, actually. I can't tell. And yes, I know greed is in the title but that doesn't mean it's in the chorus...

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
