"Unashamed Desire" as written by and Butterfly Boucher Melissa Morrison Higgins....
Empty all my pockets and take what you like
Empty all my pockets if you like
I've got nothing to hide
Empty all my pockets and take what you like
Empty all my pockets if you like
I've got nothing to hide

My unashamed desire
Is an open fire
Unashamed desire

Open up my chest and take what you like
Open up my chest if you like
I've got nothing to hide
Cut open my heart and turn on the light
Cut open my heartache if you like
I've got nothing to hide

My unashamed desire
Is an open fire
Unashamed desire
And I'm not afraid to love
Not afraid to love
Unashamed desire

We get one sweet moment in the arms of youth
I don't wanna waste time holding down the truth
I've got everything to win and only pain to lose
This is my
Unashamed desire
Unashamed desire
Unashamed desire
Unashamed desire
And I'm not afraid to love
Not afraid to love
Unashamed desire

General CommentI think Missy is saying that shes not going to pretend to be something that shes not anymore. I heard her other song everyone's waiting and I think this album will be a lot more critical on all those who ever doubted her or mad her feel like she wasn't doing anything. I think with this album we will see a very honest Missy Higgins.

General CommentObviously yes, not being ashamed of who she is. I think it's more about Missy not being ashamed of being bisexual. There is a lot of stigma about being bi and not being one way or the other (more-so than just not being straight). The video she is being pulled back and forth by men and women. She sings "I'm not afraid to love...unashamed desire"
