Well you're standin' there, you said life ain't fair
Won't you tell me somethin' I don't know
And man I'm sunk, red faced and drunk
But there's a reason I stayed up all night and begged you not to go

Dear I fear we've found ourselves a sticky situation
It's an awkward occupation disregardin' right from wrong
And you were down on Washington dancin' like the devil
And I am just a fool but I have loved you all along

Well the everyday gets in the way
Of all the things we could be
Don't you understand, I'm an honest man
But I would steal you in a heartbeat if the choice were up to me

Dear I fear we've found ourselves a sticky situation
It's an awkward occupation disregardin' right from wrong
And you were down on Washington dancin' like the devil
And I am just a fool but I have loved you all along

Well what happesn little baby, wanna blow this town and ain't nobody like you
Got a brand new high and lonesome, it's a bad dream comin' true
What's a poor boy to do

Dear I fear we've found ourselves a sticky situation
It's an awkward occupation disregardin' right from wrong
And you were down on Washington dancin' like the devil
And I am just a fool but I have loved you all along
I am just a fool but I have loved you all along

My InterpretationIt's a song about him falling in love with a woman in Stillwater if I had to guess. Stillwater's home of Oklahoma State University and Washington is a well known street there. Most of the cities bars and dance clubs are found on Washington, and them being a band have probably played in Stillwater multiple times. They recently played at Calf Fry in Stillwater.
