The graffiti over 309 used to say things that I could romanticize
Like "I'll always love you Katie"
Or "Bernard Herman lives" or maybe "loves"
I could never quite decipher or decide
But now the overpass says things like "DRAT"
And I'm not sure what to make of it

I watch the highway lines unwind
Thought about where I could go and who I would leave behind
I stayed anchored here
Cause only I could find a way to make a year I hated seem nostalgic
I can't say goodbye
I've been having car crash dreams
Not sure if they mean anything
But it keeps out of the driver's seat

I remember me at eighteen
Naked in your parents' basement
Young and careless
Watching you blow smoke rings
And I remember me at eighteen
You sat stoic in front of me
A portrait of who we'd someday be

Me verses the highway
Me verses the highway
Me verses the highway
Me verses the highway
And I'll say the best years may still be ahead of me

I remember me at eighteen
Naked in your parents' basement
Young and careless
Watching you blow smoke rings
And I remember me at eighteen
You sat stoic in front of me
A portrait of who we'd someday be

General CommentNot sure on a few of these lyrics. I'll correct them if anyone knows the real ones.

General CommentI think you only missed one word in:

"Or "Bernard Herman lives" or maybe "loves"
I could never QUITE decipher or decide

General CommentLove the new sound. this fucking kicks ass. its actully kind of sad how many 14 year old scenery kids are like The Wonder Years groupies now. i hope their new sound drives these idiots away... not that i really care, buttt i saw them only a year ago ( october 2010) and the show had like 40 kids there... WITH four year strong. This band has done extremely well for themselves and for that i must applaud
