"Prozac Rock" as written by and Richard Charles Edwards....
get in the mood.
get in the mood
for me to come back in.
tell me what you've been doin'
while i've been getting high
on prozac rock
in the summertime.
i hated your dog; it never stopped.

get in the mood.
are you in the mood
to move to pismo?
and tell me what you've been doin'
'cause i've been havin' dreams.
in one, we float on a river of booze
and drink down a bottle of blue.
in one, i float on a river of booze and sink.

prozac rock.
i got brain freeze.
i loved your sister,
fell in love with her teeth.

get in the mood.
are you in the mood?
that's all; it's over.

prozac rock.
prozac rock.
i don't believe you.
i need to see you.
and when we meet,
i'll kiss your feet.
i'll skin your knee.
because your sister's sweet.

General CommentProzac is prescribed for a number of different psychological problems but in a nutshell, it takes the "edge" off. The song is making a mockery of formulaic, overly focus-grouped, teen-targeting "rock" music about sex, drugs, idealized notions of love ('get in the mood', 'getting high', 'river of roses') with no "edge" or artistic integrity. Well done.

General CommentIt's a STOOPID song about Prosac which some people with depression take. I have a family member on the drug and it's not amusing. And those with depression are not crazy, as the song seems to imply.
