Wakin' up in someone else's bed,
Was what I was waitin' for
Oh my days what have I done,
She saw me sneaking out the door
What have I been waiting for,
Been wasting all my time
Watchin' my youth slip away
Surely is a crime

And no, she don't know what we do in our spare time
No she don't know that we've been up all night
All night, all night, all night

We go on and on and on and on and on
Never knowing where, never knowing where
We gonna, we gonna, we gonna end up in the morning

We go on and on and on and on and on
Never knowing where, never knowing where
We gonna, we gonna, we gonna end up in the morning

Sun is up while I'm walkin' home,
But my heads up in the clouds
Trying to get my self to bed
But I really don't know how,

And no, she don't know what I do in my spare time
No she don't know that we've been up all night
All night, all night, all night

We go on and on and on and on and on
Never knowing where, never knowing where
We gonna, we gonna, we gonna end up in the morning

We go on and on and on and on and on
Never knowing where, never knowing where
We gonna, we gonna, we gonna end up in the morning

When I get myself home to my bedroom,
I'm gonna sleep all day till the sunsets

When I get myself home to my bedroom,
I'm gonna sleep all day till the sunsets

When I get myself home to my bedroom,
I'm gonna sleep all day till the sunsets

When I get myself home to my bedroom,
I'm gonna sleep all day till the sunsets

We go on and on and on and on and on
Never knowing where, never knowing where
We gonna, we gonna, we gonna end up in the morning

We go on and on and on and on and on
Never knowing where, never knowing where
We gonna, we gonna, we gonna end up in the morning

    My Interpretation

I guess it is about sleep-walking... Doing something all night and the next day not remembering whatever the hell you did and where you are!

But it can also have different meanings as suggested by the lyrics... Maybe it's about a man is cheating but that point of view isn't really clear in the whole song... So yeah, it' sleep walking

    My Interpretation

I wager the song is about his youth. His desire to sneaking out and party and his mothers perception of his life.

(As hes sneaking out the front door.. He was thinking/feeling:)

Wakin’ up in someone else’s bed, Was what I was waitin’ for (Hes been waiting all dayz to get some nookie, but then he notices his mom (apathetically?) watching him)

Oh my days what have I done, She saw me sneaking out the door

(He feels guilt/shame for being caught)

What have I been waiting for, Been wasting all my time Watchin’ my youth slip away Surely is a crime

(Despite the initial guilt, he feels as if hes been wasting his life up until this point. So nvm mom, He should have gone out more often/sooner. Not enjoying life while your young and free of the burdens of job/family etc - cant be right! He decides)

And no, she don’t know what we do in our spare time No she don’t know that we’ve been up all night All night, all night, all night (On his way to the party, mom doesn't really know/want to know? what hes doing when he goes out or how long hes out)

Chorus (He describes the party mindset. Party is going on)

Sun is up while I'm walkin’ home, (Its over, he's partied all night) But my heads up in the clouds (drugs? hangover? post party-high? thrill of getting laid?) Trying to get my self to bed But I really don’t know how, (can't relax after.. it seems, the great time he had)

And no, she .... All night, all night, all night (Thoughts over breakfast? He again thinks about how his mom can't imagine what he really gets up to.. and all he can think about is the next time hes out)

    ...

When I get myself home to my bedroom, I'm gonna sleep all day till the sunsets (He wishes to skip the chore of daily life for the thrills after dusk)

    My Interpretation

Maybe he's secretly bragging about his extramarital affair with his "other wife". The one his current wife never had a clue about. Maybe this guy is a real piece of shit?

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Midnight
Ed Sheeran
“Midnight” is a song about finding a love that is so true that it provides a calming feeling through every storm. Ed Sheeran reflects on his good fortunes in landing someone with such peace and support and speaks of not fearing the dark days because he knows they’ll all end in the safety nets of her arms. “Well, good morning there / What a way to start the day / With everything laid bare,” Ed Sheeran sings in the first verse, enthusiastic to be waking up beside his woman. He apologizes for missing her calls in the second verse and promises to return them because for him, speaking to her is the most important thing. “Well, I get lost inside my head / In this chaos, you’re my calm / And I will find my feet again / ‘Cause еven the worst days of my life will always еnd / At midnight in your arms,” sings Ed Sheeran in the chorus, revelling in his good luck.
