"Homewrecker" as written by and Marina Lambrini/nowels Diamandis....
Every boyfriend is the one until otherwise proven
The good are never easy, the easy never good
And loving never happens like you think it really should
Deception and perfection are wonderful traits
One will breed love, the other hate
You'll find me in the lonely hearts
Under 'I'm after a brand new start'

And I don't belong to anyone

They call me homewrecker
Homewrecker
They call me homewrecker
Homewrecker

Girls and their curls and gourmet vomit
Boys and their toys and their six-inch rockets
We're all very lovely 'til we get to know each other
As we stop becoming friends and we start becoming lovers

And I don't belong to anyone

They call me homewrecker
Homewrecker (I'm only happy when I'm on the run)
They call me homewrecker
Homewrecker (I broke a million hearts just for fun)
They call me homewrecker
Homewrecker (I'm only happy when I'm on the run)
They call me homewrecker
Homewrecker (I broke a million hearts just for fun)

I'm only happy when I'm on the run
I break a million hearts just for fun
I don't belong to anyone

I guess you could say that my life's a mess
But I'm still looking pretty in this dress
I'm the image of deception

When everything is life and death
You may feel like there's nothing left
Instead of love and trust and laughter
What you get is happy never-after
But deep down all you want is love
The pure kind we all dream of
But we cannot escape the past
So you and I will never last

'Cause I'm a homewrecker
Homewrecker (I'm only happy when I'm on the run)
'Cause I'm a homewrecker
Homewrecker (I broke a million hearts just for fun)
'Cause I'm a homewrecker
Homewrecker (I'm only happy when I'm on the run)
'Cause I'm a homewrecker
Homewrecker (I broke a million hearts just for fun)
'Cause I'm a homewrecker
Homewrecker

My InterpretationI think the song is about a woman who wants love, but at the end of the day she's just a heart breaker/home wrecker and that's what makes her happy the most. She'll never find real, pure, love because her "life is a mess."

My InterpretationI think it's about how the people she dated and broken up with portray her. As she often says they call her but never her saying herself. It's like in every relationship where the person heartbroken often plays the victim card and makes out the heartbreaker as the offender when she really did nothing wrong. Somewhat of a femme fatal, but she really isn't. It's basically a song sung in the point of view of a girl who gets called these words such as homewreaker and image of deception and knows she gets called these words and she basically has fun with it. Notice how she calls herself these mean things, broke a million hearts just for fun, homewreaker, her life's a mess, that she sings it as if she's making fun of the fact she's called them. She takes these not seriously. I love the line where she shows how much fun she has getting called this when they say that her life's a mess, but she's still looking pretty in this dress, it's basically a counter to what people say about her. Deep down though, she's just a girl who's looking for true love but hasn't found it yet. I love how it's a middle finger to all those who call her these names and how she's just having fun singing them.

My OpinionI think oliviauncensored has basically given us the meaning. But I really want to say how much I love this song! I havn't heard all of Electra Heart yet and to be honest I don't want to until it comes out because I want the other songs to be a superise (I sound like such a child, I know). But the song's I've heard from there so far are AMAZING. There's not one where I want to change it. But this has to be my favourite song I've heard so far from there. Can't wait till 30th April!

General Commenti think that this is marina telling us how she really feels or is in the real life in a catchy song. maybe she is not too happy about it.

General CommentI feel like this song is about how she's scared to commit because she's been hurt and, like Oayabac said, it's a middle finger to the people giving her these titles, because they don't know her side of the story.

My InterpretationI find how Marina's other songs in the album, "Electra Heart", really spotlight rejection, hurt, and scarring. This song, in my opinion, closely relates to "How to be a Heartbreaker", but in this one she details her struggles a bit more. In "Homewrecker", she expresses how she felt as though she was losing her fight with love. She moves from boyfriend to boyfriend, thinking that each one is "the one", until she's proven wrong by heartbreak. She has a difficult time sticking to boyfriends, as the good ones are never easy to get, and the easy ones are never good in the end. She's gotten almost to the point of being sick and tired of relationships, and she now becomes the heartbreaker (homewrecker) of the relationship in order to save herself from rejection. Even so, deep down inside she wants to start over, and she wants true love to happen to her to fulfill her dreams.
