"The Maker" as written by and Ryan Olson Channy Leaneagh....
Maker of the lips I kiss
Maker of the life I miss
There's the boss who draws the gun
White balloon the setting sun
No, I can't roll 'cause I’m too lonely
Oh my God, why won't you hold me

Maker of the lips I kiss
Maker of the life I miss
There's the boss who draws the gun
White balloon the setting sun
No, I can't roll 'cause I’m too lonely
Oh my God, why won't you hold me

He won’t love me like that
He won't love me like that

Maker of the lips I kiss
Maker of the life I miss
There's a boss who draws the gun
White balloon the setting sun
No, I can't roll 'cause I’m too lonely
Oh my God, why won't you hold me

He won't love me like that
He won't love me like that
He won't love me like that

No, I can't roll 'cause I’m too lonely
Oh my God, why won't you hold me

He won't love me like that
He won't love me like that
He won't love me
He won’t love me like that

Song Meaningin her mind she talks to God, calls out to him for her lover and says, "he won't love me like that" (in other words: like you, God or like I love him)

    sad, but oh so common.

My InterpretationThe person is asking God (or "The Maker") to confort him/her in lonelyness ("oh my god why won't you hold me") since the one she loves ( "the lips i kiss, the life i miss") left.

He/she is comparing the love of the one with the love of god, and repeating to him/herself that the one will never love him/her like god. *It's important to note that she/he is repeating to him/herselft, trying to convince him/her of that.
