If misery loves company, well then I want about a thousand girls in love with me
So fuck the beat, 'cause when I blow this shit is more than hot
And if you didn't know by now then I was born to rock
And I was brought into this earth in 1983
I rest my head up in the west 'cause it's the place to be
And when I crush the microphones you know I do it well
Sometimes I can be nice and other times I can be rude as hell
All around the world fools are starvin' in the cup
And I'm living in my car 'cause it's hard to give a fuck
And I couldn't live without 'em and it's hard for me to say
But everybody knows that chicks are partially insane
I be strollin' like fuck it, broke with no duggits
Chicks always diss 'cause I'm rolling in the bucket

Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?

Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?

And if what goes around comes around
Well then I should be getting nothing but respect in the underground

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Magical

How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
