When you come around looking,
Don't excpect a thing.
'Cause nothing here is sacred
Worth not remembering.
There's no justifying
Burying in your voice.
All that I'm implying, is hidden in the choice.

I'm done with all the things that bring me down.
(Patch me up and roll me over)
And you could say the same as me right now.
(Every wall will crumble down)
The truth to self is always hard to tell.
(Check your habits at the door)
Yours will be a face remembered well.

The minute you remember,
I'll be where I was.
Apologising often,
It never seems enough.

If the words could surface, I'd scream now,
(Let me be part of this plan).
So I hope you're worth the wait around.
(If I'm not I understand)
There's never been enough time to slow down.
I promise more when I get back in town.

General CommentThis is a very personal song written by the singer Brendan after he divorced his wife. He has said it's hard for him to play it live.

It's about his deteriorating relationship with his wife due to him constantly being away because of the band's relentless touring. The lyrics are pretty obvious once you know the background.

"When you come 'round looking, don't expect a thing....cause nothing here is sacred, worth not remembering." -No matter what has happened, the good times they shared are always worth remembering.

"I'm done with all the things that bring me down....And you could say the same as me right now." -talking about their feelings toward their marriage.

"If the words could surface I'd scream now...So I hope you're worth the wait around." -referencing his wife's feelings toward Brendan always being gone.

"The truth to self is always hard to tell...Yours will be a face remembered well." -It's hard to be honest about the breakdown of their marriage, and no matter what happens, she/he will always remember the good times.

"The minute you remember, I'll be where I was....Apologizing often, it never seems enough." -All of his apologizing to her about being away wasn't ever enough to make up for time lost.

"I promise more when I get back in town..." -Brendan's promise to make up for being gone, though it was too little too late.

That's basically the gist of it. Really sad song and brutally honest. UM is great and way more than just a jam band, they have hard rock songs and deep introspective ones like this. See them live if you get a chance, they're one of the best live bands of all time.
