Yeah, whoa, whoa, mmh, oh
Yeah, whoa, whoa
Haha
Yeah
My name is Scott Mescudi, yeah
Mmmh
Yeah

Gotta get it through my thick head
I was so close to bein' dead, yeah
Life, live it with nobody's help tips
Man, I'm just walkin' without bein' led
See the world is so crazy and filled with such risk and, man
I just know I gotta dodge them, yeah
The beginnings are followed by an end
In the in-between time I'm not runnin' or hidin'

See things do come around
And make sense eventually
Things do come around
But some things trouble me

The people I met and the places I've been
Are all what make me the man I so proudly am
But I wanna know one thing
When did I become a ghost?
I'm mostly confused about the world I live in
They think that I'm lonely, well, I probably am
One thing that still gets me
When did I become a ghost? Yeah

Na-na-na na-na-na-na, oh, whoa-whoa, ha, ha
Yeah, yeah, whoa-whoa-whoa, yo

Tried to fight it
But soon that gave in
Went down a road with no lights on, mh
Can't describe it, and you don't move like them
You become their worst nightmare
You remember the things that your parents had said, and, well
Rather find out the hard way
You should tell a friend to tell a friend to tell a friend
I keep with my stroll, I'm not runnin' or hidin'

See things do come around
And make sense eventually
Things do come around
But some things still trouble me

The people I met and the places I've been
Are all what make me the man I so proudly am
But I wanna know one thing
When did I become a ghost?
I'm mostly confused about the world I live in
They think that I'm lonely, well, I probably am
One thing that still gets me
When did I become a ghost? Yeah

Na-na-na na-na-na-na, oh, whoa-whoa, mmh-yeah
Yeah, whoa-whoa

Mmm (ah-ooh), ohh (ah-ooh)
I hope they understand that I really understand that
They don't understand (ah-ooh)
I hope they understand that I really understand that
They don't understand (ah-ooh)
I really understand that they
I really think I, um (ah-ooh)
I hope they understand that I really understand that
They don't understand, whoa
Listen to me
Whoa
Listen to me
Whoa

"I hope they understand that I really understand, that they don't understand" I think this line is really underrated. It's so simple yet so complex and powerful. He understands that he's misunderstood. And he wants them to know that he knows they think he's wack, but at the same time he doesnt care. Good work Cudi.

Okay This is just to set up the basis for what this song is about and to record the history of current events at the time of "THe Legend of Mr. Rager" release. Scott Mescudi has come to portray two huge things in his life. The first being he's told the world that he was addicted to blow (cocaine). Thats got a large part of what this song is about. The other is that he is going to be a daddy. I know these two things from watching a couple different interviews with Cudi and reading magazine interviews. This interpretation is just my personal opinions.

"Gotta get it through my thick head. I was so close to being dead. Yeah. Life. Live it. Nobody self checks."

Seems to be a direct relation to his addiction to cocaine. Especially "I was so close to being dead", He literally almost died a couple times from coke. He is saying He was living life, doing exactly what he wanted, just like "Pursuit of Happiness". Nobody self checks part is obvious, like my screenname ;).

"See, things do come around and make sense eventually. Things do come around but some things trouble me."

He has stated that he is from now on clean from blow, and it seems that his daughter is a big inspiration for that. SO now that he has a clearer mind he sees how his life was and it now makes sense. "Some things trouble me" may refer to it being hard to fully quit, or the memories of all that he was gone through in his life so far.

"You remember the things that your parent's had said, and would rather find out the hard way."

Many people can easily relate to this, parents always warn their children about dangers in life, yet we still want to try it for ourselves to experience it.

Well so far thats all that I have formulated in my mind, really the point of this post is to get the comments a rolling on this song and hopefully create more hype on this album. Kid Cudi is an under rated musician. Get this album and give it a serious listen. -David McKee

I think something can be said about the actual idea of ghost. Perhaps when he was doing blow he just went through the motions and wasn't all there. It was as if a ghost was living his life and now he sees what he's left with. He's proud of "the people he's met and the places he's been" but he wasn't really there, when did he lose control. "When did he become a ghost." Just a quick idea that came to mind. Tell me what you think

    The first verse should say;

"Life, Live it, With not many help tips, Man I'm just walkin' without bein' lead. See the world is so crazy big, And filled with such risk, Yeah, I just know I gotta dodge them."

This song is about a boy becoming a man. But by becoming a man, he has to deal with so much that he becomes numb and cold, i.e. a ghost. Cudder explained this on twitter a while ago. The song is amazing, by the way.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
