Let's get the story straight
You were a poison
You flooded through my veins
You left me broken
You tried to make me think
That the blame was all on me
With the pain you put me through
And now I know that it's not me it's you (you)

It's not me it's you (you)
Always has been you
All the lies and stupid things you say and do
It's you (you)
It's not me it's you (you)
All the lies and pain you put me through
I know that it's not me it's you

You
You

It's not me it's you, you

So here we go again
The same fight we're always in
I don't care so why pretend
Wake me when your lecture ends
You tried to make me small
Make me fall and it's all your fault
With the pain you put me through
And now I know that it's not me it's you

It's not me it's you (you)
Always has been you
All the lies and stupid things you say and do
It's you (you)
It's not me it's you (you)
All the lies and pain you put me through
I know that it's not me it's you

You
You

It's not me it's you, you

Let's get the story straight
You were a poison
Flooding through my veins
Your driving me insane
And now you're gone away
I'm no longer choking
From the pain you put me through
And now I know that it's not me it's you (you)

It's not me it's you (you)
Always has been you
All the lies and stupid things you say and do
It's you (you)
It's not me it's you (you)
All the lies and pain you put me through
I know that it's not me it's you

You
You

It's not me it's you
It's not me it's you, you
It's not me it's you
It's not me it's you, you
It's not me it's you
It's not me it's you, you
It's not me it's you
It's not me it's you

you know this songs has absolutly nothing to do with arguments in relationships although it may remind you of one but the meaning of this song is to break away from bad influences and how people like that can basically wreck your life

It reminds me of this girl i loved and she broke me heart over and over again, with all her lies and the way she would treat me. I was put through a lot of pain.

    My Opinion

This song is about every abuser out there. The way the get into you and make you feel like everything is your fault. The way they act and everything else. I know this song definitely applies to the abuser I am with now.

This song practically describes the relationship with my ex. But, as already mentioned, it's most likely about his father.

For me this song reminds me of my ex bf. we went out for 10 months and broke up with me on our 10th monthaversary thingy. HE said it was because he was falling out of love with me. But the real truth was that he was just scewing around with my best friend. (who no longer is my best friend). Then a month or so ago we started talking again and he blamed me! he said that i abandoned him all along and that i left him in the cold. so when he says "You tried to make me think, that the blame was all on me with the pain you put me through" sometimes when i listen to this song i feel like they're stalking me because this is exactly to the T what i went through with him.

I do believe this is another song, (along with "Older I get" and "Open wounds") about Johns bad relationship with his father.

Kick-ass song though, this new albums AMAZING!!!!

This song reminds me of the relationship I have with my dad...along with open wounds. Hes always telling me everythings my fault, and that everything wrong in our lives its my fault.

"So here we go again The same fight we're always in I don't care so why pretend Wake me when your lecture ends You tried to make me small Make me fall and it's all your fault With the pain you put me through And now I know that it's not me it's you"

I have just now began to realize its his fault...not mine so I dont care what he says...thus I ignore his lecturing and yelling at me.

For me, this is definitely about my biological father. I can't speak for John or whoever wrote it, but it is exactly how I feel/don't feel about the heck that man has put me through all my life.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
