"Hot Air Balloon" as written by and Brendon Thomas....
A hot air balloon
Is waiting for you.
Climb in the basket
And pull the string.
Lift yourself away
From this troubled state of mind.
The darkest place you've ever been
In all of your life.
It's time
Now what do you say we get the hell out of here?
There's no reason to be afraid,
Though I know that you are.
You're just scared of the changes
That could fix your life.
You deserve so much more
Than what you've allowed yourself to be.
I wish you were strong enough
To set yourself free.
I know that you are
Now open up your eyes
And take a good look around
At the world beneath your feet
And all the people on the ground.
Isn't it a wonder
How tiny we really are
And how the world comes into focus
Once you see it from afar.
Kind of makes you realize how irrational this all is:
These stupid worlds which orbit our stupid tiny heads.
There's no reason to be afraid,
Though I know that you are.
You're just scared of the changes
That could fix your life.
You deserve so much more
Than what you've allowed yourself to be.
I wish you were strong enough
To set yourself free.
I know that you are

Song MeaningIf I remember correctly, Brendon Thomas wrote it for a friend going through Depression and tough times. If I remember, it was in a commentary or interview somewhere or even in the song booklet that came with the CD. It's obvious the lyrics are about depression, tough times, etc and to gather the strength to get through them.
