"Old Devil Moon" as written by and Burton/harburg Lane....
I look at you and suddenly
Something in your eyes I see
Soon begins bewitching me
It's that old devil moon
That you stole from the skies
It's that old devil moon in your eyes

You and you glance make this romance
Too hot to handle
Stars in the night
Blazing their light
Can't hold a candle
To your razzle-dazzle

You've got me flyin' high and wide
On a magic carpet ride
Full of butterflies inside
Wanna cry, wanna croon
Wanna laugh like a loon
It's that old devil moon in your eyes

Just when I think
I'm free as a dove
Old devil moon
Deep in your eyes
Blinds me with love

General CommentJamie Cullum; Frank Sinatra; and Tony Bennett all sang this one, as well as others I would guess. Connor provides the female perspective. It's about a man whose eyes light up like the moon. It makes her 'weak in the knees." He's more dazzling than the moon itself, and just when she feels she can break from the power he holds over her, he looks at her again and she melts. Makes me envision that first kiss with someone you believe you love or could love... when the kiss creates a feeling that pulsates all though your body and at that very moment you feel powerless in his grasp. Mmmmm Mmmmm Mmmmm....just love the old music....SO romantic!
