What's good my brother?
Chillin?
Yo give me five Dutches bro
Deadass
Too much things going up in my head
Too much things going up in my head
Yeah
I used to think being dead was better than living
Bad women, bad drugs equals bad decisions
My mind racing thinking what the fuck I’m gonna do
I don’t wanna work momma, I don’t wanna go to school
Basement trynna finish the woods
White people getting rid of the hood
Yeah we did what we could
I can’t sleep, got a tab workin' all on my eye
I can’t tell you what it means to be outside of time
Wishing friends would resurrect to tell me what it’s like
To be in heaven or in hell, flying through the skies
My father always told me shorty you should graduate
Friends dying at a higher rate, make you retire late
World falling, damn, and I’m supposed to stand?
Like a college diploma really gon give me a 100 bands
Fall apart, self destruct, making dutch extendos
Fucking with this redbone, stuck inside my headphones
How many times I been around to see the love and pain?
How many times we got to fuck to get inside your brain?
How many checks I got to blow to get a icey chain?
How many of you niggas rapping just for minute fame?
Minute Maid, got the juice for a little change
Make them coins run out, did you make a change?
I’ve been thinking should I wait another second more
For you disrespectful whores to finally learn my name...
(But fuck ya)
We just animals, what we actin civil for?
Everytime we get the most we just want a little more
I probably died fighting back inside the Civil War
I know America gon' want another Civil War
Teach my kids all I know before you shoot 'em up
Until we dead they gon' say we didn’t lose enough
I pray for niggas that was winning but they lose for us
Bitches that don’t really know us wanna choose for us
Instagram got me stuck, tripping seeing colors
When she ask me if I love her all I say is fuck her
Smoking dope, looking out for the undercovers
Fucking under covers 'til my night is covered
Lookin at my phone, world getting loonier
Games still nuclear
Colonizing planets 'cause our future looking gloomier
Will I get old? Hold up

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
