I found out
On a late night drive
In my winter coat
With my blood-shot eyes
My faith ain't been
No friend to me
And the way I sin
Is hanging off of me

And I'm sorry
You can't take me anywhere
Pretty soon we're almost there
Baby, one more night
It's been a long, long drive
And I'm way, way tired
I don't need no
Back-up plan

I don't want nobody
Nobody don't want me
I'm so sad so lonely
But I'm always landing on my feet

One more time
With a sad, sad smile
And your white bread friends
In the circus life
All the one-way rides
The sweet beginners
Passing on the left-hand side
With a sideways smile

And I'm always
One step from stalling
Bad trips can make great stories
Dance all night
With your ass on fire
And your hands up high
And feel me one more time

I don't want nobody
Nobody don't want me
I'm so sad so lonely
But I'm always landing on my feet

I learn to love myself
And I don't need no one else
And when a love moves on
'cause it gets cold
Then another moves in
And it can fill the hole

I'm one more
Hopeful lying on the bedroom floor
No sense trying
When the whole thing drops
You lose your nerve
I hope you get what you deserve

I don't want nobody
Nobody don't want me
I'm so sad so lonely
But I'm always landing on my feet

:O I can't believe nobody has commented on this song !! It's such a great one of theirs .. I think for me this song is about somebody who can't seem to find a relationship that works and is unable to settle down. He gives off the impression of being strong and happy when really he is 'sad' and 'lonely' inside.

I agree, I never really realized that until you said it, though. "All the one-way rides" one night stands ... there's a touch of indignation in this, though. Kind of, don't feel sorry for ME! I'm ALWAYS landing on my feet, I can handle it.

this is clearly the best song on the More Than You Think You Are Album. When my ex-boyfriend pissed me off, I always listened to this. I love it.

Oh my god, I ADORE this song. It's my favourite matchbox twenty song full stop i think. I'm not too sure what it all means, but i don't think it matters because you can just hear the anger and upset, and it's just emotional. I love the last three lines....

I love it the song sounds fairly upbeat with a twinge of anger but the lyrics suggest loneliness and depression. itsthe curse of the extrovert you must always appear happy even if you are lonely if nt even for your own psychological defence

OMG Can anyone say jaded & masked?! I loved this song from the first time I heard it. It spoke to the repetitive fuck up in me. "And your white bread friends In the circus life" is so sarcastic and possibly a bit envious. whitebread friends. sweet beginners. normal non fuck ups. the kind you can take anywhere. the kind who aren't lying on the floor freaking out and pretending they aren't. It's almost resentment... like fuck you goody two shoes types, i don't need ya! I'm off having bad trips, shaking my ass and being decadent ("the way i sin is hanging off of me"!? c'mon!! yeah, i love MB20 & this song rocks.

You guys are crazy. This song is about one thing and one thing only; CATS.

I know I know, it sounds crazy, but my better half (not even the biggest MB20 fan) listened to it once and knew it. It's in the words, it's in the beat, it's in the vibe. Not to mention Rob Thomas is an avid animal lover who founded/runs a non-profit dedicated in part to animals.

Yeah it's about cats. He fooled you.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
