Here's to your garden here's to your kids
I heard you were in the neighbourhood
I've been a long time on the skids
And baby I'm beside you - you run from the river

When it long ran over you
This is for you standing up to a bone-chilling wind
This is for the failures you collected from my sin
And this is for your lonesome tears I never dried

This is for you hanging in in the hope that it never dies
And baby I'm beside you - you run from the river
When it long ran over you
This is for you waiting up though the call never came

For the milk of human kindnesses you collected from our dream
And this is for your lonesome tears I never dried
This is for you hanging in in the hope that it never died
And baby I'm beside you - you run from the river

When it long ran over you
And now I'm running here beside you
And now I'm running here beside you
This is for the traveler on a blinding desert road

Good fortune smile upon you and may love be your only load
And this is for the only one who could quell my burning rage
To anyone whose been a broken man and anyone seen better days
Baby I'm beside you

And now I'm running here beside you
And now I'm running here beside you

    My Interpretation

I think this is a song about a man who has separated from his wife. He hears she is around or back in town. He apologises for the things he could not give her and the sadness he did give her (the tears I never dried). He wishes it were different but he can't change. He's been a long time on the skids. He starts off by complementing her on her garden and kids. They seem to be interlocked in like (I'm running here beside you). The river that has run over her is possibly his destruction of her life through his drugs, drinking, who knows what. It is a beautiful song because she still loves him and he still admires her. This is mature song writing and Dave Dobbyn is amazing at it.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
