"Lies, I Don't Know What They Say But..." as written by and Philip Hansen/brown Anselmo....
Sometimes I feel like a man that has two broken hands
All of this thrown at me, sinking me neck deep in sand
They can't kill me no more, I don't know what to say 'cause it's lies
Lies

Underneath all this, they should see the man that I am
All of my life I've been tried and then persecuted
They can't kill me no more, I don't know what to say 'cause it's lies
Lies

Underneath all this, they should see the man that I really am
I've been tried and persecuted
Lies

Undenied
Cold shackles inches from the knife
I defy
What's mine shall be but nothing stands the time
Not surprised
It's the same to sleep as it is to rise
Lies

Undenied
Cold shackles on my hands, inches away

Death or life
Look deeply into my eyes
Fire on fire
Way to be and get a fucking ride
Some desire
A "fuck you" soars through the sky
Lies

General CommentSeems to me that it's about how he feels impotent against all the accusations that get thrown on him by the media. Good song.

Of course, Phil isnt impotent, he has a bigger penis than us all.

General CommentThis is one of my favorite Down songs. Most of the song has a Black Sabbath feel to it. I also love the bass line.

I think Barry pretty much nailed it. Phil is talking about the media and others making quick character judgments based on very little or "taken out of context" information. He is most likely saying that no matter what he says or does, the media will always take shots at him with bogus info and other types of slander because people will eat it up.

Sounds to me like he is telling people to not judge a book by its cover, get to know the real person before you judge them...."walk a mile in their shoes" kinda thing.
