"Song from an American Movie, Pt. 1" as written by and Greg Eklund Art Alexakis....
The only thing that ever made sense to me
Is the words to a song from an American movie
The only thing that ever made sense in my life
Is the sound of my little girl laughing
Through the window of a summer night

I sit alone in the back yard
Wishing I could be inside
Just the sound of my little girl laughing
Makes me happy just to be alive

General Commentthis song is about exactly what it says at the end. he's happy to be alive to be able to see his family and all those precious things that we always take for granted

General Commentthis is about a guy who has been through alot of shit in his life you should see how art sing this song live his devorcing in this song(I sit alone in the backyard wiishing I could be inside) he's hurt for leaving his little girl and somehow psychotic about it but is he loves his daughter very much for the fact that the sound of his little girl laughing still makes him happy just to be alive
