You got a smile so bright
You know you should've been a candle
I'm holding you so tight
You know you should've been a handle
The way you swept me off my feet
You know you should have been a broom
And babe you're so sweet
You know you could've been some perfume

Well, you could've been anything that you wanted to
And I can tell
The way you do the things you do
(The way you do the things you do)
The way you do the things you do
(The way you do the things you do)

As pretty as you are
You know you could have been a flower
If good looks was a minute
You know you could have been an hour
The way you stole my heart
You know you should have been a crook
And baby you're so smart
You know you could have been a school book

Well, you could've been anything that you wanted to
And I can tell
The way you do the things you do
(The way you do the things you do)
(The way you do the things you do)

You made my life so rich
You know you could have been some money
And baby you're so sweet
I know you could have been some honey

The way you swept me off my feet
You know you could have been a flower
And babe you're so sweet
You know you could have been some perfume

Well, you could've been anything that you wanted to
And I can tell
The way you do the things you do
(The way you do the things you do)
Way you do the things you do
(The way you do the things you do)

You made my life so bright (the way you do the things you do)
You make me feel alright (the way you do the things you do)
You made my life so rich (the way you do the things you do)
Oh, oh, you made my life so rich (the way you do the things you do)
Babe, babe, babe, babe, ooh (the way you do the things you do)
Babe, babe, babe (the way you do the things you do)
(The way you do the things you do)
(The way you do the things you do)

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.
