Ela é minha menina
E eu sou o menino dela
Ela é o meu amor
E eu sou o amor todinho dela

A roseira já deu rosas
E a rosa que eu ganhei foi ela
Por ela eu ponho o meu coração
Na frente da razão

E vou dizer pra todo mundo
Como eu gosto dela

Pois, ela é minha menina
E eu sou o menino dela
Ela é o meu amor
E eu sou o amor todinho dela

A Lua prateada se escondeu
E o Sol doirado apareceu
Amanheceu um lindo dia
Cheirando alegria
Pois eu sonhei
E acordei pensando nela

Lá fora está chovendo
Mas assim mesmo eu vou correndo
Só pra ver o meu amor, o meu amor

Pois ela vem toda de branco
Toda molhada, linda e despenteada

A girar, a girar, a girar, a girar

Zazueira, Zazueira
Zazueira, Zazueira
Za, Za, Za, Za, Za

Ela vem chegando
(Ela vem chegando)
E feliz vou esperando
(E feliz vou esperando)
A espera é difícil
(A espera é difícil)
Mas eu espero sonhando
(Mas eu espero sonhando)

Uma flor é uma rosa
Uma rosa é uma flor
É um amor esta menina
Esta menina é meu amor

Mas ela vem chegando
(Ela vem chegando)
E feliz vou esperando
(E feliz vou esperando)
A espera é difícil
(A espera é difícil)
Mas eu espero sonhando
(Mas eu espero sonhando)

Pois menina bonita
É um céu azul
É um colírio
É um mar de rosas
É olímpica sua beleza
Ela é alegria
Da minha tristeza

Zazueira, Zazueira
Zazueira, Zazueira
Za, Za, Za, Za, Za, Za, Za

Ela vem chegando
(Ela vem chegando)
Que maravilha
(Que maravilha)
Ela é minha menina
(Ela é minha menina)
Ela vem chegando
(Ela vem chegando)
Vai girar
(Vai girar)

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.
