"The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" as written by and Ewan Maccoll....
The first time ever I saw your face
The first time ever I saw your face
I thought the sun rose in your eyes
And the moon and stars were the gifts you gave
To the night and the empty skies, my love
To the night and the empty skies

The first time ever I kissed your mouth
I felt the earth turn in my hand
Like the trembling heart of a captive bird
That was there at my command, my love
That was there at my command

The first time ever I lay with you
And felt your heart beat close to mine
I thought our joy would fill the earth
And last 'till the end of time, my love
And last 'till the end of time

The first time ever I saw your face
I thought the sun rose in your eyes
ANd the moon and the stars were the gifts you gave
To the night and the empty skies, my love
To the night and the empty skies

Song MeaningWhen I hear this song, I begin to feel extremely spiritual... As though I am in a church, and it reminds me of the burning of insense for some strange reason. Such a beautiful song.
