"Peace and Love, Inc." as written by and Paul Robb....
I'm not exactly in the mood for Mozart
And all that kind of goings on

Look at the world
It's a complicated place
And it's hard to keep the pace
You've got to wear a smiling face

But what we've got
Is a blue-light special on truth
It's the hottest thing with the youth
You've got nerves we need to soothe

If you've got to believe in something
Believe in us cause we make it easy
Peace and love incorporated

Shop around
See if you don't agree
We think it fits you to a "t"
And the best part is it's free

I believe
We got the market cornered this time
We can make you feel fine
It could impact your bottom line

If you've got to believe in something
Believe in us 'cause we make it easy
If you've got to belong to something
Belong to us and we'll make you P.C.
Peace and love incorporated

Peace and love
It's the newest cause by far
And we've got all the biggest stars
Get your politics up to par

If you've got to believe in something
Believe in us 'cause we make it easy
If you've got to belong to something
Belong to us and we'll make you P.C.
If you've got to have faith in something
Have faith in us it can be so easy
Peace and love incorporated

6X:
(Welcome…)
Welcome… to peace and love incorporated

General CommentThe companies trying to sell Gen-X, weren't Gen-X. They weren't part of an ethos. They were an image forever self perpetuating.. They showed an image of what you were supposed to be, then sold it back to you. The Merchants of Cool were much like Fagem om Oliver Twist.

My InterpretationAround the time this was released, companies started gearing their marking towards generation X. Being a member of this generation, I can say we were raised on a diet of satire, disillusionment and cynicism. It's all about not believing what they tell you and don't be a blind sheep in this.
The video only serves to reinforce this. For example, when the line "Belong to us and we'll make you PC" is sung, they show a hand holding a package of cigarettes with the letters PC on it. Cigarettes, of course, are very politically incorrect.
What's sad is since then, this kind of hype has only gotten worse.
