"A Clean Break" as written by and David Byrne....
Just beginning to take that love away
Just beginning to take that love away
In a minute I'll wash that love away
Even now we remember what we used to say
Takes a minute to wash that love away
Take a clean break: wash that love away

Even now we remember what we used to say
Even now we remember what we used to say
We'll be together if we wash that love away

What's tha matter ?
Have to clean up ?
That's true
That's true
And it's taken
To extreme extent
That's why we
Work so hard to
Take that love away
Take that love away
Take that love away
Take that love away

My Interpretation"We'll be together if we wash that love away" as long as you keep washing away the slate then you can let the love grow again and again. Just make sure to work hard and harvest that crop ( and say sweet things that they used to say)

It's about moving on an starting over on understandings and communication. "Taking love away" doesn't mean abandoning but just moving it.

General Commentin my mind it sounds like when you might move houses in a bid to get a "fresh start", a new environment that dosent remind you of all those bad habits/times that you had in the last place

and it works, but only for a time and then you dirty up the new place

for anyone interested, there's actually a few studies that have been done on this:
