"End Of Time" as written by Don George Gilmore, Marco Biazzi, Andrea Gaetano Ferro, Christiano Mozzati, Cristina Scabbia, Cristiano Migliore and Marco Coti Zelati....
You stared your lies
Above the sand
You hold my hand
Before the end comes
For kidding me
For what I've done till the end of days

'Cause I belong to you
'Cause I am part of you
I am dying in your arms
It's time to go
I can make it through

I've come to realize
Tonight my dear the end of time
Is not so far away
We cannot pray to save our lives

I can feel you and
I think that everything you wanted make
Was the mirror of your dreams
But I couldn't believe what you take

As I belong to you
My flesh and blood in you
I am burning in this fire
It's time to go
I can make it through

I've come to realize
Tonight my dear the end of time
Is not so far away
We cannot pray to save our lives
I've come to realize
Tonight my friend the end of time
Is not so far away
We cannot pray to save our lives

I'm coming home again
And now I know where I belong
Reeling from my instincts
'Cause I realize I'm not alone

I've come to realize
Tonight my dear the end of time
Is not so far away
We cannot pray to save our lives
I've come to realize
Tonight my friend the end of time
Is not so far away
We cannot pray to save our lives

    General CommentEND OF TIME

you’ve built your life above the sin
you hold my hand before the end comes
    forgiving me
for what i’ve done ’till the end of days
    ’cause i belong to you
’cause i am part of you
i am dying in your arms
    it’s time to go
    i can make it trough

    i’ve come to realise
    tonight my dear
    the end of time
    is not so far away
    we cannot pray
    to save our lives

    i can feel you
    and i think that
    everything you wanted in me
was the mirror of your dreams
    but i couldn’t believe what you’d say
    as i belong to you
my flesh and blood in you
i am burning in this fire
    it’s time to go
    i can’t make it through

    i’m coming home again
and now i know where i belong
    reeling from my instincts
’cause i realise i’m not alone

    i’ve come to realise
    tonight my dear
    the end of time
    is not so far away
    we cannot pray
    to save our lives

    i’ve come to realise
    tonight my friend
    the end of time
    it’s not so far away
    we cannot pray
    to save our lives

Song FactThe lyrics above are not correct.... some lines aren't even close.
    Correct lyrics:
"You built your life above this sin..." (first verse)
"I can feel and I think that everything you wanted in me..." (second verse)
    Just to list a few...
What sense does "you build your lies above the sand" make? It doesn't.
In the second verse, the whole paragraph is one long line and one complete thought. Therefore, the way it's listed above makes no sense. The lyrics listed in THIS post are correct. If you don't believe me, go watch the video on youtube and read her lips.

My InterpretationA lover has had an affair and she broke up once she knew. (couldnt believe what you'd say)
He is now terminally ill. She forgives him because he is living his last moments.
He says that she idealized (mirror of your dreams) him and didn't love him for what he was. Despite this instinct he's coming home again because however he feels, she's there for him and he is not alone.
    She is bearing his child.

My Interpretation"End Of Time" by Italy's Lacuna Coil tells quite an interesting story.
Visualize if you will a couple, that's a given, who are in the prime of their relationship.
A young man in his late 20's experiences a most uncanny passage of time marked by a physical change to his body: sadly, his first grey hair. When he sees the top of his head the mirror he's aware that this abnormality was inevitable: he's aging as a result of sleep loss and stress from the moment his lover left him. Realizing he will have to adjust to his appearance makes him more withdrawn. He feels cursed to have no friends or family. He is utterly alone.

So he packs his bags and he is about to board a plane. He never saw the countryside. The only way for his broken heart to heal is to see the beauty of the land and the stars in the sky, leaving behind a corrupt, cold society which included his former girlfriend whose memory haunts him forever. When all he knew was loneliness a miracle happened...

Even after some great turbulence where they separated for a while, the boyfriend pulled through for her. He went on a journey and eventually his lady fell back into his arms. What the lyrics from this song are saying:

(Ferro) I Understand you now and why you weren't there for me all these years (too many)
The girlfriend joins in to say that her feelings for him never changed. She knows she's forgiven for what's she's done.

His lover is 10 yrs older than him and for the first time he's come to realize the epihany of their relationship. After she left the younger women he encountered were what he maybe wanted all along but his instinct told him that none of them could hold a candle to his sweetheart who was old enough to be a Mother and raise a family, which is what he's always wanted.

When the two lovers are reunited they both have grey hair now. They endured. The boyfriend becomes a husband. She, his Wife for all time. This song is a reminder of their vows to each other.

Two miracles took place: Began with her saying "I'm coming home again." (for good)
And most of all she channeled him. as if to say I was with you when you felt like letting go (ending your life) but you endured because I'm part of you. When you were in hell my love protected you when you wanted to self-destruct.
You belong to me dear, if you wanted to go and kill yourself (god forbid) you need my permission!

General CommentDefinitely the theme is life is short (but thats okay). I guess from the perspective of a couple, or father/mother and son/daughter. If you watch the video both of them are bleeding at the end. I dont think you can be so literal with interpretation of the song. They are italian afterall, which implies esl.

My InterpretationWith one person having their "flesh and blood" in the other speaker, my guess is that one of the speakers is the child of the other.

Maybe it's about a child coming back home to see their terminally ill mother?

Here's the first stanza of the song:

    "You've built your lies
    Above the sand
    You hold my hand
    Before the end comes
    Forgiving me
For what I've done till the end of days"

My guess is that one of the two speakers has lied to the other. Now that they've been reunited, one of the speakers is forgiven for what past misdeed that they have done to the other person. What's unclear is who lied to who and who is being forgiven here.

    The second stanza goes:

    "'Cause I belong to you
'Cause I am part of you
I am dying in your arms
    It's time to go
    I can make it through"

I'm guessing that the other speaker has told this person that they belong to them because they are part of them. It seems that this statement, along with the fact that they are dying, seems to be used as the justification for it being their "time to go". And assures the other speaker that they "can make it through" this ordeal.

    The third stanza:

"I can feel you and I think that everything you wanted to me
Was the mirror of your dreams but I couldn't believe what you take
    As I belong to you
My flesh and blood in you
I am burning in this fire
It's time to go I can't make it through"

I think that the first speaker is bringing up their past differences. The first speaker (child) is telling the second speaker (parent) that everything that the second speaker wanted the first speaker to be was to be reflection of what the second speaker had wished to become for herself - accomplishing what they couldn't get accomplished for herself in her child. But, the child didn't want what her parent had in mind for her and wanted her own life.

Yet, that was all in the past. Using the same justification as her parent had used, she is telling her parent that she is tormented by this request that her parent has for her. And, she tells her that she won't be able to make it through this.

And, when I say "her", I don't necessarily mean that the parent is the mother, but could just as well be the father. Likewise, the child could just as well be the son instead of a daughter. I'm just trying to use correct grammar here.

    The chorus:
    "I've come to realize
Tonight my dear the end of time
    Is not so far away
We cannot pray to save our lives
    I've come to realize
Tonight my friend the end of time
    Is not so far away
We cannot pray to save our lives"

The parent is telling the child that they have now realized, in their old age, that the end for them is not far away. No one can pray to prevent their death from happening, and is using that to assure the child about what has to come next.

    The last stanza:

    "I'm coming home again
And now I know where I belong
    Reeling from my instincts
Cause I realize I'm not alone"

The parent is telling their tormented child that they're coming "home". It's in one's instincts to be afraid of death, but the parent is moving away from those instincts because they won't be alone where they're going. Perhaps, because they're going to be reunited with their loved ones?
