"The One That Got Away (feat. B.o.B.)" as written by Max Martin, Lukasz Gottwald and Katy Perry....
Summer after high school, when we first met
We make-out in your Mustang to Radiohead
And on my eighteenth birthday, we got matching tattoos

Used to steal your parents liquor and climb to the roof
Talk about our future like we had a clue
Never planned that one day I'd be losing you

In another life, I would be your girl
We keep all our promises, be us against the world
In another life, I would make you stay
So I don't have to say you were the one that got away
The one that got away

I was June and you were my Johnny Cash
Never one without the other, we made a pact
Sometimes when I miss you, I put those records on, whoa

Someone said you had your tattoo removed
Saw you downtown, singing the blues
It's time to face the music, I'm no longer your muse

In another life, I would be your girl
We keep all our promises, be us against the world
In another life, I would make you stay
So I don't have to say you were the one that got away
The one that got away

The one, the one, the one
The one that got away

All this money can't buy me a time machine, no
Can't replace you with a million rings, no
I should'a told you what you meant to me, whoa
Cause now I pay the price

In another life, I would be your girl
We keep all our promises, be us against the world
In another life, I would make you stay
So I don't have to say you were the one that got away
The one that got away

The one (the one)
The one (the one)
The one (the one)

In another life, I would make you stay
So I don't have to say you were the one that got away
The one that got away

General Comment'In another life . . . . . ' It tries to be positive but really is sad. The way she says it..oh how it endearing. No one can ever replace your FIRST TRUE LOVE.

MemoryThis song makes me think of my ex and my relationship. We started dating in the middle of sophomore year and our relationship was great for most of it. We had great memories and we had a lot of fun. We dedicated songs to each other and our relationship was almost perfect. Then things got rough and we ended up having a messy break up. It wasn't easy to move on and in all honesty I don't even think I've completely moved on yet, but I haven't let it affect my life. His life, on the other hand, went downhill. We broke up mainly because of his actions and choices and he turned to drugs and alcohol over the summer, causing our relationship to get rough, and even more so after we broke up. His life plummeted and he is dealing with an endless number of problems right now. If he kept his life straightened out the entire time, we could still be together today. He "got away" to drugs and alcohol. He pretty much tried to forget about the memories we made and what we had but he can't. He now begs for me back but I know that it will never be the same as it was before. He got away, and he can't come back.

General CommentI was so excited to see this song come to life. Hands down my favorite off of Teenage Dream, I think this song is highly relatable for anyone that has loved and lost. I think about him every time I hear this song. I really hope though that this song won't be overplayed because it will lose significant meaning.

General CommentMy absolute favorite from this album. It makes me a little teary, since it brings memories of how innocent and easy life was during high-school and stuff. I think Katy's voice sounds amazing here too.

General CommentPeople are saying this song is about the lead singer of Relient K. I buy it, because I know they dated a few years ago and remain friends. Anyway, this is my favorite song from her new album. It's sad, but catchy and unbeat at the same time.

My OpinionIts about young love and the powers of it. The powers that can create happiness and the powers of it that can create grief.

General CommentThis is from what I've heard a sequel to Teenage Dream and in my opinion i think it is about Katty and her ex husband Russell because in the begging both of them were lovebirds and both thought they where soulmates until they filed a divorce and think of it, this was made after the divorce while teenage dream was made at the beginning of their marriage.

General CommentThis brings back to me when i was a just staring out as a senior in high school. I was 17 and he was 22. He was the one that left me one a personal reason but it wasnt at all a bad ending. Just i look back and i was so young and dumb from where im at today. But this song has a bitter and happy part to it for me. It says alot to me still. But hey its life.
